More ricefields ?

Very cloudy this morning and even a couple of large spots of rain.
Jai goes with neighbour Ang to the final ceremony of the Bun Gratin party.
When she returns we bike out to the farm. The local mayor or whatever is searching for strong stony soil to use in road building around the village and a work crew is coming to the farm to search for anything suitable. They are looking besides the rice fields of Jai's mum which her brother Sai now farms for her with a view to enlarging the ricefields for next year. A large JCB starts tearing down trees and taking scoops of earth but cant find anything suitable. They move along the edge of the fields until they hit pay dirt. Good news is that they have now reached Jai's land so it looks as though she may be going to get a free extension of her ricefields - but I'm not really sure ... ?!
In the evening Fin comes to visit to make sure she is still coming on holiday with us on Monday.
