First thing this morning we visit ourt neighbours, Ang & Deu, farm to get some pig manure. Their pigs died a few months ago as did many others in the area but they still have a mountain of manure that we help ourselves to. One thing I am trained to do is shovel shit so feel at my ease today. Ferry the sacks home on the bike down slippy, muddy, tracks. Jai then uses the manure to sort out her flower pots and we plant some of the seeds that we brought from England; gazania, wallflower, mimula, dalia, love in the list, marigolds and a few others. We have given up on our mushroom plans for the time being so I have my veggie seed house back and plant out some leeks, peppers and squash. Fingers crossed now that they all produce something that we can pant out when the rainy season has finished in a month or so,
Our neighbour Ang never stops working and at the moment hasa deal going with monkey nuts. She buys a big sack and then roasts them in a dry, sand filled, wok. Bags them into smaller packets and seels them on at the market and door to door. She buys the sack for about 3GBP, works all day sat in front of her wok, then sells them on for about 6GBP the next day. They do taste good though, especiialy when still warm, and they go great with my evening beer. Keep up the good work.
