We had talked about staying here another night but had decided against it. When Jai and Fin go out to get some breakfast it has started to rain so that seals our decision. After coffee and croissants in the room we pack up and are checking out just before 07:00. Leaving the hotel it is now raining quite heavily.
Tuk-tuk to the bus station where there is a minibus just about to leave for Phon Thong and we are immediately on our way. About 5mins out of town the rain has stopped and all is dry. This area is fortunate to have access to water all year round and get away with two or three rice crops each year. It seems strange to see the fields full of bright green young rice in the middle of the dry, cool, season. The bus is quick and we get back to Phon Thong before 09:00.
Tuk-tuk across town to collect the bike then back to Khamnadie. There hasnt been any rain here. We have only been gone the one night but the back garden veggies are looking a bit sad so I give them a good soaking as a priority.
Fin stays with us through the day, playing at making mud pies with Um Im from next door.
Late afternoon we go to the farm to check on the bananas but none are ready for cutting. We do return with a sack of rice grass, some galangal and a small bunch of bananas from Jai sister Begats farm next door though. We give the bananas to her sister back in the village of course !
Pop to the village market for some blah tong go and some meat.
Watch Chelsea 3v1 Swansea at 22:00 then off to sleep.
