We were reccomended this place by Helen & Beej. It didn't disapoint, amazing views of the river, pool, with private jacuzzis and a free upgrade to Executive room!!! ..but a bit pricey at £70.

Our first beach hut on the trip. We loved our time @ Siam Huts. The had an amazing beach party on Friday nights with bangining sound system. Amazingly for just 350baht a night (£7.50) we got a swimming pool right on the beach too!

We stayed here for 10 days over Christmas & New Years. It was 700baht a night (£14) and included this interestingly shaped pool, which unfortunately was in the shade after 2pm... Food was awful, but people were nice and great location close to Tae Pae Gate in Chiang Mai, very close to amazing night food market!

I think we lucked out on this place, came as part of our three day rafting package. We had a 1st floor room, totally gorgeous, with massive balcony. The neighbours weren't so nice though (Anna & Tom had the ground floor room, with an amazing suntrap terrace. No idea how much this would be if you booked it yourself. It had residents goats to keep the plants trimmed and baby pigs. Also a lovely big pool and free lifts intoPai town.

Amenities included a mosquito net, blankets, a jungle shower made of bamboo piping that diverted water froma nearby icy strem, that's about it.... Was amazing to wake up to the sounds of the jungle and river. FREE

A bargainous 250 baht a night (£5), uninterupted sea views from the balcony looking out over boulders. Alas no bathroom and a rather dodgy rocky hill to the shared bathroom in the main house which seemed to breed mosquitoes. Good food though and great beach.

This was the view, perfect sunsets, great with a Singha beer!

800 baht a night (16 quid). A very steep climb to get to, but beautifully decked out in dark wood, amazing balcony looking out on Tanote Bay. Accommodation was expensive on Koh Tao! Great snorkeling off the beach (around the rock you can just see through the rain). Very chilled beach with nice food. A bit remote to get to though - 200baht into main town.

You need to hunt around to find cheap places in Koh Samui, but we stumbled accross this place, a bit behind the beach, but still only 5mins away and close to lovely night food market. Away from the craziness of Central Chawend, but only a 10min walk. We paid 450baht (£9) for this, which was a total bargain. Admitedly the room was a bit mould smelling, but we descovered why when it rained and we had a small waterfall coming down the wall. Huge room, TV, large hot water bathroom - we can deal with a bit of indoor rain!

Our second stop in Koh Samui. These bungalows are run by a British guy, so the western food is AMAZING including Fish and chips to die for! 600baht (£12) a night, spotless complex righ on a very quiet 4km long beach. Still close to Chaweng and also The Fishermans village for street food. We hired a mini catamaran here for the day, much cheaper than main Chaweng beach. On nice thing was a small bowl of water outside the room, so you could wash your feet before going in the hut - awesome idea!

We turned up here at 9pm after hellish journey from Ko Samui. Luckily managed to get two nights at this amazing bungalows - 350baht a night (£7), righ on beach with beach side dinning and amazing food! Cheapest on Long beach. The rooms unusually are hexagonal and huge, spotlessly clean with a lovely hammock. Gutted we only managed to stay two nights as they were fully booked after that!

Bit of a shocker when we moved here. 500baht a night (£10). This is the place that certainly put us intouch with nature!!! A giant mouse in the room, cockraoches (Due partly to rubbish heap behind hut and also mosquities galore. Not to mention a very vocal cockerell who liked to crow out the back of hut who started up at 5am. Not good with a hangover. On the plus side, it had a lovely cafe, with great coffee you can stand a spoon up in and cheap massive breakfast, all a 10 second stumble away.

After a bit of accidental negotiation by Mike we got this palace for 700baht a night (£14). Delights included A/C, a fridge (a real treat) and a huge room. DOn't let the coulour scheme put you off, this place is very cool, with a nice crowd and seconds from the beach. Restaurant is lovely and cheap and you are served by very friendly lady boys.

Accomodation is notorioulsy expensive like Koh Tao. We managed to find this ansolute gem though. This place is in the process (Like much of Phi Phi) of turning into a posh resort. Currently some fan rooms are still there, normally 1000baht, but due to construction noise reduced to 500baht (£10). they have a brand new pool overlooking the beach which we could use. The restaurant was souless and expensive, so we ate elsewhere, but total bargain, on lovely Long Beach, 30min romantic walk from main Phi Phi town (Or 100-150 long tail boat) and with THE BEST snoreklling we found in Thailand, inc black tipped reef sharks just off the shore. Phi Phi still has quite a few power cuts, so we had one most evenings for an hour or so..

We were amazed to find a different 'towel' animal on our beds each day, rooms cleaned daily - amazing for such a cheap room. My favourites shown here - elephant & pig.

This little hut was 200 baht a night (4 pounds), no bathroom, electricity or fan. It was spotlessly clean though. Seconds from the beach, which had barely anyone on it. Luckily the large old trees overhead and island breezes kept us cool. One of our fave places & huts. I coped surprisingly well with the lack of bathroom. Koh Jum is a must for anyone who would like to see what Thailand was like 10-15years ago! No electricity after 9pm, so campfires on the beach are the best way to spend an evening!

I lucked out on the first night as only posh places available - shown (what a shame ;-) ). Hot water, A/C and seconds from the lovely beach. Amazing balcony/veranda too. 1200baht a night (24quid), so pricey, but I enjoyed a but of luxury for the night, before we moved to a really nice 700n=baht hut at the back of the complex.
