Among Kanchanaburi's marvels, is the tiger temple, Wat pa Luangta Bua Yannasampanno forrest monastery, saiyok district.
We caught a local bus 45 mins out of Kanchanaburi, and were dropped out on a dirt road, it was hot and we had a 3km walk up to the temple. ( as you can see we are determined to do these things ourselves, no tour needed!) We must have look tired because a tuk tuk stopped and gave us a free lift. 😊
This temple is a must for all travellers, it is a real conservation project and it is going ahead with big plans. They are in the middle of building the 12 km park, the vet hospital is under way, but they need all the help they can get to save these big cats.
we had an amazing day getting up close to these beautiful creatures enjoy the photos......

here, kitty kitty!
Wow, I love the pics of you two with the big cats. Was it at all scary being so close to them? They look absolutely gorgeous lying there lazily in the sun, but I bet they can still move pretty quickly when they feel like it... (Yes, I am a wuss. You are brave.) You'll be here in Blighty soon! Whee!
