It's our second to last full day in Phuket. On Wednesday we got up at 5.40am to go on a full day boat trip around Phang Na Bay (and a few other places). We got onto this pretty big speed boat which could fit all 18 of us comfortably on board. We first stopped at Koh Phanak where we explored some of the caves and had to wear torches to see where we were going. We came out the other side of the cave into this large opening where mangrove trees were growing and they had those walking fish (mud skippers). After that we went to Koh Hong where we were taken on these inflatable canoes and taken into more caves (where we had to lie down to get through some of the openings). From there we went to James Bond island and then went swimming on another island. We then went for lunch at Koh Yao Noi and found out out they make rubber using rubber trees. In the afternoon we went swimming at another beautiful beach and then headed back home. It was a full on day and everyone was falling asleep on the ride back home.
The
next few days we have been just chilling at the resort, unfortunately we got lots of bites from swimming in the water on our day out which have started to blister (we think they might be from jellyfish although we didn't see any). So I took an antihistamine yesterday which then knocked me out for a full day which is why I couldn't blog yesterday. I'm more awake today so we went swimming at the beach near our resort but the stinging started to come back so we got out almost straight away (we've seen bits of ground up jelly on the beach so we think it could be jellyfish again.... but we're not sure). Anyway we went swimming in the pool which was fine, and then played a bit of tennis in the afternoon (we are both terrible which made us laugh heaps). We wanted to see a few sites in Phuket today but we didn't realise how big phuket was and it would take us 1.5hrs one way just to see the big Buddha and the view point I wanted to see, so we just stayed at the resort instead and will have a nice dinner instead.
Anyway this will probably be the last post as we leave on Monday. We've had a great time and really enjoyed it, and it's been nice just relaxing at the end too. Normally I don't want to leave my holidays and don't look forward to going back, but this time we've got something to look forward to as we just bought a house before we left! So we are both looking forward to that, but it has been nice not thinking about it so much and distracting ourselves by going on this amazing holiday (which we booked before knowing about the house)! We are already thinking about the next trip though, and although it will take us a lot longer to save up for holidays/travel now, I look forward to planning the next one 😊
