Ko Lanta
one of the many fire shows Ko Lanta > Phuket > Ko Phi Phi > Ao Nang > Railay > Ko Pha Ngan > Ko Tao > Bangkok
Ask yourself this...When was the last time you made it a point in your day, in fact the most important "to do" of your day, to find a good spot to watch the sunset? Probably never, or, cant remember the last time. Well thats travel, and everyone who has travelled knows the feeling. As a friend said, those moments when you are sitting in the sand watching the sun go down, you're not thinking about anything, you don't need anything, you are just sitting there, energizing your life and soaking up the real reason why we live. There is no such thing as a "travel bug", it is simply an addiction to living free!! Sure, bad things are bound to happen to you on your trip, delays, maybe robberies, perhaps even unfortunate incidents on Bolivian buses (thanks Burger King), but you know what, these are the stories you are most excited to share when you get back home...Travel regulates imagination through reality, and instead of thinking how things may be, you see, smell and feel them as they
are...
OK, where did we leave off, Ko Lanta. After a week exploring the island on scooter, we left Ko Lanta, which was super chill, to go pick up Sydnee in Phuket. Little did we know, and little did we think it was humanly possible, she misread the date she was supposed to leave Vancouver and missed her flight altogether (midnight is in the a.m.), so we spent one full glorious day inside the Phuket International Airport, waiting for our imaginary friend, 8 hours of pure fun. By the time we left we knew almost everyone who worked there!!
Anyways, she did make it, and we headed off to Ko Phi Phi, an overtouristed island full of annoying things and people and very expensive...the compensation however is that it is beautiful...stayed for couple of days, snorkelled lots (saw a Leopard Shark and a Zebra Moray Eel - too cool), got molested and robbed by monkeys and introduced Syd to whiskey buckets and Thai hangovers...also, poor Teri experienced a very traumatizing "large-cockroach-crawling-across-your-face-while-you-sleep" incident which i found hilarious, but she did not and spent the rest of that night curled up in the fetal position on the corner of Sydnee's
Ko Pha Ngan
Teri and Syd's drunken modelling shoot in the pool bed...
Leaving PP, we decided to head over to Ao Nang and Railay to break up our travel day to the Eastern Islands...this was an excellent desicion...Railay was unreal...known as the epi-center for rock climbing in Thailand, Railay did not dissappoint...picture white sand beach, crystal clear water, and 200m limestone towers shooting straight up from that white sand surrounded by pretty cool jungle...very nice, the pics do not do it justice...
From there, we had one super annoying travel day (Thai time - hate it), but made it to Ko Pha Ngan...Teri found us an awesome place for super cheap on Hat Khuat (Bottle Beach) and we stayed there, accomplishing nothing (which is actually a goal while travelling - to do less than the day before) and chillin in the pool, realxing on the amazing beach, and again, introducing ourselves to Thai hangovers...Bottle Beach really was beautiful...
From there, ferried over to Ko Tao, a super chill little island just north of Ko Pha Ngan...on Brian and Dana's advice, we headed straight over to Shark Bay and found a little peice of paradise...spent all 3 days snorkelling during the day with Black-tip reef sharks, and Barracudas and
enjoyed the actual cool breeze at night, downing Chang Beers...the reef just outside our bungalow was amazing, cannot recall snorkelling in a place with such an abundance and diversity of species...kinda felt like you were in an aquarium...
We killed a week on Ko Tao, it is stupid how fast the time moves while you are travelling, none-the-less, we made it back to Bangkok yesterday and will kill our last three days here, no doubt havin one more whiskey bucket or three!!!
peacnluv to all, see ya in a couple of days...T&S

So, Teri wqas traumatized MORE by her 'cockroach across the face' experience, as opposedf to being molested by monkeys, then SHE has a problem..........I think the whiskey bucket was pennance......LOL Can't wait to hear the tales.....
