Bamboo Tattoo Hey Dudes,
Sorry it's been so long for the next entry but we have moved around a wee bit so this is the first opportunity we have had to sit down and write some drivell! Hope everyone is well and we have been thinking of you all while we have been out here! On our last night in Phi Phi Gill and I went for a nice meal, had quite a few buckets and i went and got myself a traditional bamboo tattoo up my right forearm. It's thai writing and it is a quote from Bruce Lee it says "Be water, my friend" well, that's what it should say it probably says "chicken soup", SORRY MUM! After we left Ko Phi Phi we got the boat to Railay which is up the coast from krabi. We arrived around 5.00pm jumped of the long tail and walked to railay east beach, there are two beaches, east and west. We had heard that east was the cheaper option so thats where we went, we walked for around 10 mins and came to a bar called the Stone Bar i think it's pretty obvious why it's called that! I left Gill there

Zu and his crew of tattooists! Zu on the far left...scary! with the bags and wandered around trying to find accomm. I came across a place in the jungle called Cabana Bungalows at a tenner a night we couldn't resist, the place was very nice but you have to learn to sleep with the dwellers of that jungle. Railay is very different to the likes of Phuket as there are no cars or mopeds and it's the most chilled place we have ever been even more than amsterdam..........no what i'm sayin! We didn't really get much done in Railay just sat and read books and had cocktails, but after all the running around we had been doing that is what we needed. The people of this area were really nice we met a guy from Isreal called Shai he was cool and we sat with him quite a few times for drinks. The Stone Bar is where we spent most of our time, it had a nice atmosphere and the guys that ran it were cool too. We stayed there for four nights, we had to get up at 5.30am to catch a long tail to Krabi and then bus to the ferry port which took 4 hours and then onto

Our wee hoose! a catamaran. We met a couple who were on the bus (there were only 6 of us), they were a couple of know it alls and said when we got to the port " Have you taken your pill yet?" to which we replied "what pill" she said " Oh you don't know about the pills, let me tell you" totally patronising like and continued to bang on about people being sea sick on the catamaran. We bought a couple took them and then got on the boat. Well, she wasn't wrong, it was the choppiest boat i have ever been on it was like being on a rollercoaster. There were actually guys employed to walk around giving out sick bags which were clear by the way.......... most people on the boat were spewing everywhere, luckily Gill and I were fine.
After an 8 hour journey Gill and I were finally in Koh Tao, this is our favourite place so far! It's chilled, the people are friendly and it is a beautiful island. Our first night in Koh Tao we met up with Morten and Brian who we met in Bangkok, we had another night of whiskey buckets and i

Wee Gill at the big caves! fell asleep on the beach, blutered! We hired a scrambler on the 2nd day which was difficult to drive, we got it out on the road and went for a drive to explore the island and came to a steep hill i was in the wrong gear and couldn't make it up the hill so we came to stop. The bike started to slide backwards, I couldn't hold it with Gill on the back as she couldn't get off so we had to drop the bike and it took us down to. We had few scrapes but were fine, a guy called Sven from Holland who lived in a house next to the road came to help us. There was a foot pedal broken off and we thought we were going to have to take the bike back and pay a fortune to get it repaired. Sven said he knew a garage that would weld it for us, we got the thing welded for less than a pound....result! We took it back and got it swapped for an automatic moped and the guys are none the wiser......hee hee! Don't worry mums we are finished with the moped as we go
Railay
Railay west beach! to the full moon party tomorrow and we are getting a return catamaran from koh Tao to Ko Phagnan........barf!
We were going to stay in Koh Phagnan but it is too expensive so we will stay in Ko tao for another few nights!
Love you all! x x x x
