W tym samym momencie niczym anioł z nieba podjechał do ... read more

I was mistaken - grossly it seems. I thought I had arrive in paradise when I reached Phi Phi - surrounded by more jagged karsts, fine white sand, colourful boats lined the bay - paradise no? No. I had met Ollie, a German guy on the boat over and we ended up bonding over a love of animals and laughing over language difficulties. He had a girlfriend and I had my instincts so we ended up sharing a room for the night. Only 200 Baht each and we went to bed with the sound of vomiting next door thrown in for free - oh yeah. We both had similar desires - to find our own slice of paradise and both of us, it turns out didn't want to find it at the bottom of a 'bucket' ... read more

Saludotes varios, family...

Blog - Ko phi phi After some very tranquil and relaxing days on koh lanta we headed off to koh phi phi , the word Koh in Thai basically means island so any place with a koh, were on a beach. Now koh phi phi is a pretty small island so small there are no cars and at points you can pretty much walk the width of it in about 10 mins and that's including having a brows in the stalls along the way. We arrived by boat in to the small port and headed off to our guesthouse which was located up a very very steep hill but the views of the ocean made up for it once we caught are breath. Koh phi phi might be small but it packs a lot in its ... read more

When I woke up this morning it was pouring with rain, so I thought I will just lie here until it stops!! However it didn't stop and I was getting quite hungry so put on my plastic coat and took the plunge so to speak. The place I am staying is on the side of a hill with forty steps up to my room, the first six steps I managed easily, the remaining thirty four were like a waterfall, but I was hungry so continued on driven by an empty stomach. The next part of the walk was like wading through s stream, I lost both sandals so decided not to bother and just went barefoot it was a lot easier. A little further down the path slopes downhill, the stream became faster flowing and deeper ... read more

Today I booked a trip on a long boat to do some snorkelling and explore a little of the surrounding islands. The long tail boat carried about fifteen people, ten of which I think had just left sixth form. They all came equipped with large handbags, mobile phones and mirrors which you obviously need when on a boat and going snorkelling!! On leaving the main island of Phi Phi Don we headed towards Phi phi Le which is pretty much uninhabited, the First stop was Maya Bay which is where "The Beach" was filmed, very pretty but absolutely packed with boats and people, not my cup of tea at all. however the scenery is quite stunning the limestone carsts rise from the sea almost vertically, very similar to Halong Bay but on a smaller scale. The ... read more

I can't believe it's been so long since I wrote the last blog after visiting Siam Reap we decided to have our final night party there as a few of our group had to leave very early for flights etc the day after we arrived in Bangkok. We went out for a meal and a few drinks at a local restaurant. it was raining heavily as in a real tropical storm rain and we were all dressed up ready to go out on the town. However the rain did not deter us and we proceeded from the restaurant to a place where there was some music and dancing. The night went with a swing and copious amounts of alcohol were consumed. Certainly a night that I will remember for a very long time. The next morning ... read more

Our first full day on Koh Phi Phi We are just loving life on Koh Phi Phi Don. We woke up in our beautiful pool side room, and got all ready to enjoy the sunshine. Except it was pouring monsoon-like rain. So we went for breakfast and hope it cleared by the time we were done. It rained hard but fortunately it did clear and we were on our way to explore the island! On our way to the beach, we walked by a custom suit store, which had Mike's eyes wide and glowing with excitement. He wanted to buy some suits to start his articling year off, but didn't intend on buying them on Phi Phi. Mike got to talking to the guy and next thing you know, he's buying 4 suits and 5 shirts. ... read more

Although we really enjoyed our time in Malaysia, we were happy to be leaving KL to go to Thailand. KL is a nice city but now we're starting to think that e pollution in KL is the cause of Elysia's really bad conjunctivitis that she's had since we first got to KL (although to be honest, unless the haze was passing through, it didn't seem bad at all). It seems like it flares up each time we set foot outside in KL and goes away when we're gone. So for now we say that Elysia is allergic to KL and we're happy to move on! In fact, today we left just as it seems that the haze was coming back through. The air was very smoky, it was hot and muggy, and the visibility was poor. ... read more

Ok, so this is the bit even after a few days of being here I can not remember exactly what I did per day. Apart from the first day was really good weather and Sarah and I got manicures and I had myself a pedicure. We spent half of the day on the beach and watched the sunset, which was gorgeous. Being here from the 29th June - 4th July I can safely say we did not do a fat lot, as after the first beautiful day the rest of the days hammered in down. The evenings we spent drinking cocktails in the sports bar, ate in a few different restaurants and one particular night when there was live music at the sports bar. I ended up singing with the band and Sarah got absolutely smashed ... read more
