Hey there Guy's
It has been a week since we last updated the blog, and what a week it has been.
We left Mumbai after spending two long days there in the sweltering heat of the busy city and arrived another busy city; Bangkok, Thailand...except this place was Paradise! We checked into D&D Inn on KaoSahn Rd, dumped our bags and headed straight for the roof top Swimming Pool! Heaven on earth!! Despite the fact that it was our first time to don a bikini in about 2 weeks, it was the first time that we had seen a swimmable swimming pool where we could comfortably swim without being oogled! It was fantastic! Needless to say, we caught a few too many rays that day! Following those few too many hours in the sun we couldnt help but take a detour into the roof-top beauty salon for a manicure and pedicure before hitting the tiles for our first proper evening in Backpackers heaven! Not as many backpackers as expected but the grub was soo good, we fell in love all over again! Our night out was cut a little short however due to exhaustion after the very early morning flight

and over exhertion on all our parts after playing "spot the Lady Boys". It was a great game but some of us really let the side down by not being able to tell the difference sober!
The next day in Bangkok began with a phone call from reception telling us that we needed to check out and into another room....it was 12pm. There wasnt a single window in our room, it could have been any time of the day or night, we had to move it or we would miss out on a decent room and very important sunbathing time!
Our following 2 days in Bangkok followed much the same pattern, pool, sunbed, pool sunbed and Beauty Salon (someone is no longer a brunette...spot the difference in the photos!)
On 14th, after failing miserably to see any of Bangkok other than KaoSahn Rd and the Airport, we returned to the Airport and flew to Phuket. We couldnt believe our eyes flying in on the plane...it was mind blowing how beautiful everything looked from the air! The sand so white and the sea so blue...heaven on earth!!
Despite our guide book describing Patong Beach as
having "Thailands ugliest beach" and the

nightlife as "seedy and sleezy" we jumped into a taxi and headed in that direction. We had no accommodation booked so just jumped out of the taxi with our bags on our back and started walking around, luckily, only about 5 metres down the road we found a lovely little guest house with hotel standard really clean rooms for only 5Euro a head each per night! Score!
Again, as the pattern seems to be going, we dropped the bags and headed for the beach! Now, when we read the guide book and compared their description to what was on front of us we decided that everything had to be taken with a pinch of salt...this place was AMAZING! After coming from India i think that we didnt have much to compare it to but seriously, we were stunned at how beautiful the place was! The nightlife on the other hand was quite accurate! Sleezy and Seedy didnt even begin to describe what it was like, needless to say we didnt venture out for too long at night! We did get a spot of diving in tho! Finally! All
four of us went out on a boat to Racha Yai, a

tiny island just south of Phuket and dived our little hearts away! (Except poor Jillian who has no interest in diving but managed to pay 40 Euro to be seasick for the entire day! Sorry Jills!!)
The diving was amazing, 29 degree water temperature, scorpion fish, trigger fish, Moray Eels, Parrot fish and countless other amounts of fish were everywhere, the colours were just amazing...its like everything that you have seen on the Discovery Channel!
The following day we jumped on a boat and headed for Phi Phi Island. Now when i said that Bankgok and Patong were heaven on earth you can only imagine how mind blowing it was to arrive on Phi Phi....this place is Paradise and nothing we have ever seen on TV or in a Movie could ever beat it! The movie The Beach was filmed on one of the beaches that is a short boat ride from here...we will be sure to check it out tomorrow once our sunburn from yesterdays scorching goes down! And yes, we shall be uploading the photographs just to brighten up your
day!!
Anywho, we all hope that you are siutably jealous and wish that you could all be here

to see it for yourselves! Failing that you can check out the photographs, hope you like them!
Missing you all lots folks, keep us filled in on all the craic at home! Lots of love from Paradise,
xxx Laura, Fi, Jills and Linno! xxx

So Jealous!
Hi Fi and girlies! So glad you're all having a wonerful time. Needless to say, I am ridiculously jealous what with all the monsoon-like weather we're having here in glorious Ireland. Anyway, keep up the good sunbathing! Talk to you soon, Emily x
