Ko Phi Phi

From Krabi took boat over to Ko PhiPhi - apparaerntly one of the most beautiful beaches in the world, so felt obliged to go! and yes, it was pretty special! very beautiful with amazing crystal clear water. bit to touristy for my liking which is why i didnt hang around too long, but did stay long enough to see the wonderful things it has to offer...

did some fab snorkelling around Phi Phi Ley, Maya bay (THE one from the film The Beach), saw hundreds of fish swarming at us, amazing colours, gorgeous coral all around. i loved it so much i decided to splash out on my first ever scuba dive experience - ko phi phi is meant to be one of the best places in the world to do it, so what the hey, thought i might as well!! completely amazing experience being right down there with the sea life - saw many beautiful creatures again, as well as black tip sharks, leopard sharks, turtles, lizrdfish, trumpetfish, millions of groupers, barracuda, pufferfish, as well as hundreds of others!! i was really lucky to have the lovely instructor all to myself so got a first-class dive experience, plus we were only meant to go down 10 or so metres but ended up over 15-20m coz it was so great & he said i was doing fine!
had a little difficulty equalising on the way down due to issues i have with my sinuses anyway(apparently it gets easier with practise) & am still a little blocked up from it...thinking some fish may have made a home in my ears somehow & am waiting for them to exit!! but it was well worth it anyway! hope i can do it again some day.

managed to avoid any of the crappy touristy part night/ bucket drinking/ trance music stuff, so am very pleased! couldn't think of anything worse...which is why i made the decision to avoid phuket & ko pha-ngan!

Ko Phi Phi - lush, but only small doses for me please!
