Ko Kradan / Ko Lanta (4th April 2008) Woke up really early to catch the sunrise (6am). Off i trotted from my bungalow to the beach (15mters or so) just in my tight boxer shorts, grabbed a seat and carried it over to the water edge. No body else was up so i assumed i wouldnt scare any one or get any woman really excited walking around half naked in my under wear. Sunrise was not specacular but still pretty nice and a good way to start the day. Fabienne went back to bed as she was feeling sick, dizzy and still suffering from sunburn. I decided to take a walk to sunset beach on the other side of the island to see if my camera case and battery for my old camera had not been ... read more

Ko Mook (3rd April 2008) Got woke very early - first of all by some annoying insects (possibly some cricket like creature) where 1 starts making this noise in the distance then then like an mexican wave the next one starts and so on and so on - before you know it they're all in chrous creating this defining loud noise! This was followed by some rustling of a plastic bag inside our room - immediately i thought this would be rats (let me assure you over here there is no such thing as a small rat - they are bigger than the cats!). I purposley made noise moving around on my bed - this seemed to work as the rustling stopped. After this, there were then several big bangs on the bungalow roof. I'd completely ... read more

Ko Mook (2nd April 2008) As per normal up early, woken by the wonderful sounds and heat of the jungle. As usual hot and sunny and a day relaxing on the beach i think. Did the usual stuff, breakfast, cup of tea, let food go down, sit on beach, go for a swim blah blah blah. Decided we would hire a double kiak today and go to the emerald cave. It was advised we go later in the day when all the tours have left so we have the cave and beach for ourselves. So up until 3pm it was a case of relax, sun it up and eat, drink. During the day the water had got a bit more choppy (rough), just what we needed for our long kiak to the cave. I was lead ... read more

Ko Mook 01st April 2008 The plan today is to meet fabienne - Swiss girl i originally briefly met in LA back at end of October 2007. Along with a couple of german guys, we spent the day at LA downtown, Chinatown and had a right laugh, then later at night I met some of her friends and we all went to a restaurant together that didnt sell alcohol and we ate the healthiest rabbit food you've ever had! The last i heard She was heading south on a bus from Bangkok. I didnt know if this meant she was going to ko lipe as that would be a total shit as im not there any more. I got up early (again) and went to check emails to see if there is confirmation she received my ... read more

Been to two more Islands since the last blog, Ko Lanta and Ko Mook. Have spent the majority of our time on the beaches, with the odd trek inland to relieve the weighty stress of doing nothing! So, as last time, there is very little to report; enjoy. Ko Lanta is a fairly large island with all the best beaches along its 35km west coast, we ended up staying on Long Beach (cause it's like, long) at a quiet little cove just round some rocks at the southern end. We stayed in a great, rough and ready bungalow operation with huts in the sand right next to the beach, just perfect for the glorious sunsets. We both love our food and we found a superb little restaurant about ten minutes from the beach. Our money has ... read more

The last few days we have spent at Ko Mook and Ko Rork, a couple tiny islands in the Andeman Sea off the west coast of Thailand. We had to take boat rides to get to each one, and the water was the most incredible emerald green, and went went fairly close to shores lines most of the way and the visibility was so excellent you could see the coral on the bottom and all the tropical fish. It was so tempting to dive right in! And the beaches, the sand on them was the same consistency of flour, perfectly white and so fine. There was not a lot to do these days other than enjoy the beach and the mid-30's temperatures. Perfect days ended with spectacular sunsets, I had to hold myself back from filling ... read more
