Well this was paradise! I mostly swam in the ocean and read my book. I took a mo-ped ride one day, all over the island. The internet is expensive here, and it takes awhile to upload pictures, so this will be a short blog. I am going back home to Phuket town on the 10th, will take many pictures so you can see where I will be living for a month. Love to all... read more

In Bangkok we stayed at a very nice place called Suk 11. It’s a guesthouse in an area of Bangkok called Sukhumvit. We left Chiang Mai to go south but as well to meet up with an “old” friend of ours that we travelled with in Mexico, Nov/Dec -04. She was then travelling around Central America and just a few months after we said goodbye in Guatemala she had a terrible accident in Cuba that ended her journey. She was badly injured and taken to hospital in Miami and then returned to her home country Australia. When we saw her now she had just had her last surgery in her leg and seemed very positive on her recovery. Many things had happened since last time we saw her but surprisingly it almost seemed like yesterday when ... read more

I just have to say that malaysian people cant spell english words to save them.... bus.........bas taxi.........teksi pharmacy......farmasi restaurant.......restoron there was alot more but unfortunatly i forget them we are now in thailand. the first island we went to was phuket. we stayed at a very nice guest house on a very nice beach. we went to live thai boxing, it was really neat they even had little 55 pound kids boxing. And they all had to do a little ceremonial dance thing before they fought which i thought was the best part. on our last day i finally got enough courage to go parasailing but it started to rain so i couldnt. the next island we went to was kho phi phi. we bought snorkelling gear because there was amazing snorkelling right out infront of ... read more

After rain in Bangkok we got sun in Koh Lanta! We had a long way but it was well worth it....we ended up in a little paradise, called Kantiang Bay View Resort, which is a 1.5 kilometer bay and was quite emty of people and this made it even more special. We slept in a Bamboo hut right at the beach, and we spent most of our time in the hammock on our balcony (thank you so much Martina, Yuval, Sonja and Nir!!!) or in the water. One day we took a boat trip to a few islands, we snorkeled and swim, but the highlight was a cave we had to swim through, just to reach an amazing lagune in the middle of this rocky island. The water there was crystal clear and the sand was ... read more

So much has happened since I last wrote, it's hard to keep up. I know I have to post these things more frequently, but lately it's been so busy and I also like to have some good photos to put on here before posting. Luckily, we went to Ko Lanta, an island in the Krabi province of Thailand, last weekend and we got some pictures there. This was our 3rd time to the Krabi Province, which is on the West coast of Thailand on the Andaman sea, but our first time to Ko Lanta. Despite this being the rainy season, we had beautiful weather there. Ko Lanta is extremely quiet and not as developed for tourism as some other places, but has quite a decent sized Thai population with schools and a hospital, though the beaches ... read more

We learned the hard way really not to trust the travel agencies here... Before leaving Phi Phi, we booked a bungalow at a resort in Ko Lanta based on a brochure and the "nice" woman. She said we were getting a low season deal. When we arrived we discovered a run down room and that we could've paid much less than we did. The price we paid for trying to do something "planned"! Kind of a bummer, but oh well. I was still in recovery mode so wee just chilled for a few days. Our resort has a small pool and was connected to one other place with a decent restaurant. Our beach was too rocky to do any swimming...another lie from the agent... Ko Lanta is definitely in the low season with few tourists and ... read more

Hello peoples! How bout them flames - hopefully kicking some anaheim ass as we write. So its been a little while since we last wrote, and apologies for no pics. It takes forever to upload them onto snapfish which was my original plan, so its looking like the link will not be sent out until we get home (at least that way i can title them so you know where they are - and providing that my memory holds up). Anyways, after we left langkowi, we went to koh lanta. this has to be one of the most beautiful places on the face of the earth. the waves were quite big there, and the sound... the roar of the ocean was super calming yet very powerful at the same time. it is getting into low season ... read more

The year is 2549, well at least according to the Thais it is. Songkran is the day Thailand celebrates New Year, and yes they actually use the year 2549 everywhere, on books, paper, posters etc. This is the day that everyone stops work, not that you notice them work anyway and Thailand stages a mass water fight. People of all ages throw water , using buckets, guns, anything they can get their hans on really, including talcum powder...messy business, but jolly good fun. The party begins at 9am and goes on all throughout the day and night. There is never a lull in the water throwing. Here we met a lot of locals and strangely many swedish tourists all on the Island of Ko lanta. Guys from the town of Upsala in Sweden came down just ... read more
