Camodia this morning, Koh Chang, Thailand, this evening. We missed the bus from Bangkok to here so had to take a cab. Still cheaper than flying or taking the hotel car.
Then once on the island we rode in a share taxi to the resort. The share taxi had 13 passenger and was just a truck with a covered back. That is where we rode.

Our resort is very nice. We have a cabin with a king size bed and still lots of room. It has a tv, fridge and safe plus a modern bathroom. It is super clean and comfy. There is also a porch with a table and chairs on it, plus a roof top terrace. All this is beach front. I think we are going to enjoy this next week.

Dec 6 Kai Bai Beach Resort ….or better yet…a Little piece of paradise

A week here and we really don’t want to leave. We have spent our days by leisurely getting up and wandering next door for breakfast, which was usually followed around 11 am with a swim in the ocean. After a shower to get all that salt off we would

Right outside our cabin
either siesta for awhile or go have lunch ( one order or the other) Then it’s happy hour with maybe a walk into town ( 5 minutes away). Dinner was always (except once) here at the resort because the food was so good and the restaurant looks over the ocean. After dinner was a walk along the beach and then bed.
We did take one day and go on a snorkeling trip where we visited four islands to the south of us, and then today we rented a kayak and played around the island off our beach. The big excitement here was narrowly missing getting hit by a palm branch that fell off the tree by our steps, and by waking up to a coconut falling off the tree and hitting our cabin.
It’s been a rough week. I would recommend this place to anyone.
Sure are a lot of male tourists with Thai partners….Darrel says my skin is the wrong colour for him to fit in here.

Bangkok Dec 678

Can’t wait to leave this place tomorrow morning. This is one big, greedy, dirty city. We have dealt with so many scams here that we actually hung around the hotel today so we didn’t have to deal with anymore of them. It doesn’t matter who talks to you, they are trying to scam. Here’s hoping we find a better Thailand as we head back south to the beach for a couple of days. This is a long weekend here so lots of people are starting to travel… we plan to ‘get out of the way.

Sandy and I went out to the village to Marni's Dads memorial... and then today Janise it snowed so much.. all darn day.... I iwll have to keep looking at your pics to remind me there is a place with no snow... now of course it is raining... at 8:20,,, I'm not even ready in the least for Xmas.. but do well under pressure.. last Monday I had the cataract removed and the new lens put in yes the same eye.. I took some time off work.. so now we only have 5 days left and two weeks off. tomorrow Carrie and I are taking a load of glazed ware to the riverlodge so the kids can have their projects done for then... we have the brand new kiln which John says needs a floor under it and walls around it in the CDC storage room yay no more up and down stairs.. the old kiln is gone.. and yes Janise you can have a drink for Carrie and I ok cause I think maybe every three days we say aaargh.. Janise wouldn't like that or where is Janise when we need her hahahah and you must be laughing to yourself thinking Suckers... enjoy yourselves lol... but seriously have a good trip and enjoy your time k...Sue

Hi from Kitimat
Just finished reading your blog - what an amazing trip you are on!! Glad to hear you are both safe and sound and that you seem to be having a great time. Once Christmas is over we will start packing for our own adventure...not quite as adventurous as yours but still a long way from home. Ken Ruehland showed me how to access your blog today and in the meantime he is setting one up for himself with us included. I can see valu in the blog as you are writing your journal as well as keeping everyone up to date. Louis's last day of work tomorrow. Having a surprise party about 50 people!! He seems a little anxious as he seems to feel that he needs to have the retirement thing figured out! I hope we are able to see the both of you around Newcastle. In January keep in touch just in case we can make contact in Australia Have a wonderful Christmas!!
