Koh Chang
Day 1 beach- not raining yet! So, I may have mentioned that it has been quite a week on Koh Chang. Lisa and I had planned to top up our tans, relax by the sea and enjoy our last few days together in a state of cocktail induced bliss. Not so.
After our mission to get here and then a below average accomodation situation we were bummed out but ready to give the island a second chance. We knew it was low season here but this is obviously lower than low. There's like 18 people here or something stupid. Ok- slight exaggeration but the place is dead.
This might also have something to do with the fact that it has been raining non stop. No- to tell the story proplerly I better go back to the beginning.
We spent our first day on the back of a motorbike, crusing the south end of the island. The sun came out during the afternoon and we even got a little sunburnt. We lazed on a beach and everything was rosy until we realised the true extent of the lack of nightlife we had been hoping for. Early to bed it was for us. No bother really, we

Our bungalow on Lonely Beach did have heaps of nights left and we were booked on a snorkelling trip for early the next day.
The trip pick up was 8.45am. All went smoothly for the first 10 minutes. Unfortunately a small group kept us waiting... and waiting. We left the docks over an hour later than planned and this meant less time at the snorkelling sites for everyody else. Boo.
However, overall the day was a blast. We had so much fun swimming around and the coral was outstanding. Both Lisa and I agreed it was better than the times we have seen the Great BR. We were kept entertained by a very funny tour guide who spoke excellent english. The day was the high point of Koh Chang for me and the sun graced us with her presence for most of the morning.
That night we headed to a 'party' at Om Bar but after a long drink by ourselves we decided that no none else was going to come and we went to bed. That night I was woken by lightning stikes so fierce I thought they were on top of us. The storm hovered over us for an hour and
Snorkelling day
Loved this day. Lisa and I sat on our little balcony of Kachapura and watched as the skywas lit up like daytime and as torrents of water lashed out from the heavens.
It pretty much hasn't stopped raining since. We weren't able to lay by our lovely pool at Bampu, nor were we willing to spent the 200b entry to a watrerfall as it was too cold, wet and slippery to swim there. We also missed out on getting around the island to see Long Beach as we thought it was just too dangerous to ride the motorbike all the wat there on wet roads. This has got us down a bit more than we would have liked, but that's travel!
Tonight we will make up for it. We will have a lovely 'travel forwards' dinner at a fancy pants restaurant... there might even be wine on offer! Tomorrow morning we leave each other afte 45 days. Lisa will arrive in Cambodia shortly after lunch but it will take me most of the day to get back to Bkk before I fly to Beijing the next morning. So, this is my last entry from Thailand. It has been a rollercoaster. I
Tropical oasis
If only the weather could have held off every day could have looked like this. feel that i have seen many sides of Thailand and it has been a pleasure. I have really loved every minute travelling with Lisa and i can't wait to remember the ride with her in the months to come.
Thanks for staying ith me. Only a few more days and another country and I'll be home to show you the photos!
