ahh, so cute!! That's our baby!! A look into the future, hahahaha!!
What an amazing day! We went on a unique kayaking tour through limestone canyons, mangroves forests (for Comsewogue Alumni-"Gus would be proud"), along caves, and even through the rain!! It started out as a hot, sunny, Thailand day, then the cool rain poured on us, quite refreshing. I think it was the first time that I got goosebumps in Thailand. We had an awesome guide who was very knowledgeable about the nature and history of the caves, cliffs, and monkeys too. We met many friendly wild monkeys, who wanted to explore our kayaks and us!! It was truly incredible to be so upclose and personal with the monkeys! They can even swim! Who knew?!?! We protected our belongings and food in our dry bag, but some other kayakers in another group did not (check out the video) eheh!! So, if you are ever traveling to Thailand and plan on kayaking in the mangrove forests and through canyons, please keep everything (except for cameras and video cameras, of course) inside your closed dry bag that is provided to you by your kayaking guide. It was very peaceful to be in such a small group, only 3 of us, plus 1 guide and
Our bungalowOur bungalowOur bungalow

A very luxurious bungalow with A/C and a real mattress! Hot running water, well for at least 4 minutes!
1 guide in training. We are also learning that being a volunteer English teacher here has many benefits! Our guide took us unexpectedly to a beautiful, secluded lagoon (1/3 that we saw), and to a little beach to have a break at the end of our 4 hour long kayaking tour to enjoy some fresh pineapple and watermelon! YUM YUM!! We saw other groups going through 1/2 way, then turning around, missing all the hidden treasures. We made a complete loop through the labyrinth maze which was quite the adventure! So much fun! We felt very lucky! Very special because you can only go through there during full moon high tides! Perfect timing! We did enjoy a nice bungalow last night, for a bit of a change from our room here at the school. Nothing wrong with it, just looking for a soft mattress and air-condition, and hot running water for the shower, just for a night. The simple pleasures in life, ahhh! We have a confession, we ate American food last night. It is true. After being in Thailand for 26 days, eating Thai food for every lunch and dinner, that is 52 Thai food meals either with rice or noodles, we were craving American food. We ate the most delicious cheeseburger and fries at a local restaurant, and Rob continued to crave more American food and ordered a cheese pizza. I had to have a bite. I couldn't resist! WOW! We even held a monkey along our walk after dinner! Kinda crazy, but cool! So, hope this finds everyone well! Enjoy the videos and pics! We went a little crazy- just trying to capture all of the beauty and amazement that surrounds us! Love to all!
