Pai Thursday, July 17 and Friday, July 18 were Buddhist holidays so that gave us a four day weekend!! This was our first chance to really take a trip out of Chiang Mai. We're in the waterfall. It was fun. We didn't get any leeches on us.

It's not much but it was fun.

I don't remember what it was called. No one swam in this one cause the water was really cold and we just learned that riding a motorbike wet makes you cold. It was nice to be cold though. It doesn't happen much in Thailand.

On the way to the waterfall. At one point some women and children were making smoking gestures as we drove by. They likely wanted to sell us opium or pot. Opium is still around here. Also, Burma is close and they smuggle a lot of drugs across the border. We didn't stop.

these are everywhere in Thailand. It's really quite a good idea. Food comes to you.

It means crazy in Thai. I think some people use it as a racial slur...I don't think in the US though. Anyways this place was pretty cool. It was all open air, which impresses people who grow up in a place with crap weather. When you've lived in California for a long time it doesn't strike you as much.

On the way back we stopped at this national park that was really beautiful. We were looking for a waterfall but ended up taking a bunch of pictures of us jumping...you'll see.
