Lampang is known as Meuang Rot Ma (Horse Cart City). The last place in Thailand where this is still a mode of public transport. Mostly these horse carts used by tourists, who benefit from a less rushed and unobstructed view of Lampang city. There are various routes, among them, one that goes along the Wang River. Various stops are proposed at various temples. Negotiate the fare and duration as well as destinations beforehand, a big smile normally does the trick!
