After a chill out day in Chaing Mai we were booked to do 3 day 2 nights jungle trekking.

We were picked up at 9am by and driven into the Mae Taeng Mountains about an hour or so from Chaing Mae. There were four of us in our group, just us and a German couple called Janis and Tina. We got to know each other a bit on the journey out and ended up getting on really well.

When we arrived at the start of our trek the first thing our crazy guide 'Machete' did was crush up a plant and give us all Rambo face paint then a further hundred metres in tried getting us all to eat these massive red ants. I was the only one who didn't (too alive and wriggly) but the others managed it and said they tasted unbelievably like lime!!!

We walked for three hours with short breaks to a jungle village, it was boiling hot and all of us were sweaty and gross by the end. On the way we gathered an array of wild mushrooms which was intended for our dinners throughout the trek. We saw some amazing views and some hench spiders! We swam in a waterfall. i was a bit nervous at first but Jord looked after me. The current was so strong and the rock really slippy both us fell over at various points. Jordan did a proper spank in his trainers which made them stink for the rest of the trip 😊

On one of our short breaks Machete spotted some mago trees overlooking a rice paddy filled with Water Buffolo. The boys went about getting the mangos from the tree with a huge bamboo pole. Machete soon had them peeled and we were all ASTOUNDED by how good they tasted. BEST MANGOS EVER!!!!

Later at the village we were introduced to the group already staying there a couple of Scottish girls, a Chinese girl and their guide Mr P. Mr P was as out of his bloody mind as our guide but was tiny and old and it sounded as if they hadn't had as good a journey as we had. Never the less it was all fun and games. The guides cooked us the best dinner we had had so far using the mushrooms we had collected earlier. So much food jordan

had 6 plates!

With Jordan and Machete drinking the local brew (Rice Wine) we ended up staying up playing matchstick games the guides laid out to fool us (which we made a note of so we can do the same to everyone at home). Bed was a thin matress some sheets and a mosi net but we slept alright it was just really noisy with all the bugs outside!
