I woke up bright and early today to go to the Elephant Nature Park. We drove for 2 hours, just down the road from yesterday's rafting trip to a beautiful valley where the elephants stayed. We spent the day feeding the elephants and bathing them in the nearby river. I was amazed how much of an individual personality they have. Some like certain fruit, but not other fruit. Some would reach really high for food and some would only take it if you put it right near their trunk. Washing them was great, because you can see they really get into it. They love to have buckets of water splashed on them and we used scrub brushes to clean their skin. It's kinda sad that these animals are mistreated so much on the streets in Thailand. The company gave us tons of information.
