School midterm break started the first week of October and what better time to get away and explore my neighborhood. Hi Lynda, I love the pictures! Looks lush and humid but beautiful! Glad you're getting to explore. I know you love that. I'm just staying busy with the girls. Zoe just finished volleyball and Devon is in the regional tournament for soccer. The first game is tomorrow. Rich and I went to Sedona a few weeks ago, then last week we took 4 teenage girls with us to Palm Springs for 4 days. He's heading to Japan today, then his final trip will be the 20th of this month to Amsterdam which I'll get to go with him. We'll have a couple of days there, then Rich will be formally retired. Now the work begins. We have to get his house ready to sell or rent. Hopefully the girls and I will get to go to Leah's party this weekend. It all depends on Devon's soccer games. Joyce has really had a hard time this school year. I think she's finally feeling better but getting someone to help her with Jazzercise has been almost impossible. She has so many irons in the fire. I feel for her! I love reading about your adventures! keep them coming! Evelyn

Hi sis, Just a quickie. We were beginning to wonder if you were going to make it back. I have seen you on line a few times, but I am working again and getting ready to head back down south to C.R. I have tried to update my blog, but have not used it for many months and forgot the password that they assigned. something slug. I am waiting to hear from thm. I had to send a picture of Laura and I with a printed date attached to verify that we are who we said we are. God what a mess. glad you are having a good time in your travels. I am sure you are anxious to get home for the holdiays. Will stay in touch and hopefully be able to give you a chat in a few days. Things are hectic but we are coping. Living at mom's for any extended time tends to get on ones nerves, Both ends.. Love ya and look forward to talking with you soon. R

More furloughs at US Airways
Hi, Lynda, many more of our friends will be losing their jobs come February, as US Airways redesigned itself again. Doug and the others have decided LAS as well as many other stations aren't going to be their focus. LAS will be down to 36 flights a day by the first part of February. If you and I were still there we would become invols. PT back to Feb 1999, FT back to Apr 2002(I think those are the dates) will be gone. As you may expect there are a lot of very upset friends right now. You were very smart retiring. I wish I was 55 years old about now, but no such luck. Anyway, just thought I would fill you in if Penny or someone else hasn't already. I really love all your wonderful pictures and the stories of your adventures throughout Thailand and your many side trip in the other countries of Southeast Asia. Thanks for sharing them. As for me I am doing fine, just up to my eyebrows as always in politics, crafts and volunteering. You look like you are doing good from your photos. Thanks for what you do. You may feel like you are just one drop, but you are creating a very big ripple. Take care of yourself. Your Friend, Peggy
