Koh Phangan is known for its spiritual intent / content, and of course for the wonderful aqua sports etc, however
what i think it's practically most known for is THE full moon party ... every month to be held at the most
southeastern point of the island Haad Rin (where i was staying in my little oasis on the northwestern part of
the island oasis on the northwestern part of the island Haad Tian) ... thousands of party animals flock to the
island days before the full moon which i really noticed on the roads ... way more mopeds and way more
accidents which reminded mi once again howsmart i had been to have rented my jeep ... wsmart i had been to
have rented my jeep ... i first hooked up with Marion and Liza to have dinner at an Italian pizzaria
(unbelievable but Liza didn't like Thai food) ... this was ok for mi as i already had tummy prblms for a couple
of days and took a plain pizza and a coke which i really dont like however i know that it does help stop the
runs ... Bo and David were
at some kind of beach resort hanging with some newly acquianted young females
and after driving back and forth on the same road about a dozen times we finally found the place ... that's
one thing which is hard when u drive yourself finding others ... no one has the exact address nor are the signs
very well , let alone the ones in thai calligraphy ... anyhow half of the resort was walking around in fluorescent
clothing and or were body painted with flurorescent paint (see my picture few blogs ago) as this is THE look
for now at the full moon party ... in hind sight i think we were the only ones who didn't have anything lit up
around us ... i decided that i was gonna b a good girl and not drink too much and drove the 5 of us up and
down the hills curving around on the sea adjoining way to THE party ... i also wanted to have my car as the
last time i went to the party with 6 people i ended up being left alone as the others thought i had already
gone home
... anyway we were greeted by rows of vendors whom were selling 'buckets' little kids beach
buckets with one small bottle of strong liquor (eg vodka, rum etc) and/or sprite, OJ, Red bull or something
alike .. and some straws ... these bucket sold for 500 baht (about 12.50), the drinks were poured in and
off you went ... at least the two ladies and Bo ... when we got to the beach i was happy i went (i'm not that
much of a party animal) as i did inhale the hedonistic vibe at the 2.5km stretch of beach where 25,000
people were getting more and more drunk and more and more loveable and more and more of everything
... gotta say it was a good vibe, however i looked at the sky and saw dark clouds hovering above us and
soon the full moon was to be replace by some rain ... and then more rain which eventually turned in the
biggest and longest tropical rainstorm i've ever experienced ... at one point Marion really lost her way
(figurously and literally) after way too many buckets of our own, but also those of others as
everyone was
sharing everything with one another and it didn;t matter if you were a stranger or not ... when i finally had
her back on my arm (which she obviously needed ;-) i was able to get Liza dragged away from some
intense moments with a stranger and zigzagging i managed to get the ladies back to my car after a little
sheltering moment in the tiny shopping streets where half of the people were trying to find a dry spot ...
but not to much avail, all 25 thousand of us looked like we had all jumped into the pool with our clothes
on ... after about a half hour ur clothes on ... after about a a half hour ur clothes on ...after about an hour
traffic jam where Liza had to hold on to mi new but thoroughly wasted pal who was falling over and to the
left and right depending how i was steering my car and right depending how i was steering my car and
right depending how i was steering my car or if i was going up or down a mountain car or if i was going
the more fluorescent the better
everyone is taking images of everything up or down a mountain i managed to bring the ladies home in one piece ... another 20 minutes ride e in
one piece ... another 20 minutes ride on the now known way through the jungle and mountains i found
myself home safe in mi little hut ... after a short few hrs i happened to be waken up again by the barking
dogs (who live at the resort and who bark at everyone who has not fed them ...) i looked outside and saw
some of the most beautiful moonsets combined with a sunrise ... alltoghether an experience of a life time ...
