Our 3rd Itineraries
From Bangkok I believe we went to Samut Sakhon and Ratchaburi for our whole day activity: Elephant ride, floating Market,Cobra show, Tiger Show, crocodile show Last Day was always one of my unforgettables during every trip. For our Thailand trip, we wanted to experience authentic ONLY in Thailand experience. So guided by OFF(actually PANOTE is his real name I check his ID...RULE1 don't talk to strangers without an ID! =>😉, KBS agency pick Cecille and I at our hotel early at 7am. Travelling with us our some Filipino and Asian newly found friends^_^. Good thing our hotel serve free buffet breakfast, to prepare us for our great adventure starting for about an hour of travel to province outskirts the city of Bangkok.
I enjoyed a sulit ATV like ride, except you're riding the elephant, on trails like pavements,water/river,trees,land...with Pong Kwang the gentle elephant...We paid for 500Baht all worth it knowing that income would support the elephant sanctuary and foods. We get to have our pix taken and bare ride the cute elephant. A lot of Elephant!!! For Trivia: "In the past Teakwood was the major export product of Thailand. The Elephant is an instrument in the forest industry"...(oh that's why elephants are humongous and so macho!^-^)."In 1989, Thai Government canceled Forest Industryin order to keep the forest, many elephants to be out of work". The Pattaya
TAG!!!
upon registration you need to be tag with a number. elephant village is actually the sanctuary for retired and old working elephants.
Still at Ratchaburi we proceed to damnoen saduak floating market, which is said to be the first and biggest floating market in Thailand(the one you can see in brochure). It is the Venice of the East. I didn't enjoy the beauty at first because of the traffic jam (Yes you heard me, who says you can't have a traffic jam without a road??).It kinda crowded with boats and tourist(what do you expect its a market in a traditional way of selling). It's a morning market. Another thing is it gets kinda lull if most of the stores are closed and you can't even enjoy the haggles and bargain if your very good driver kept its distance from the hawkers (makulit na vendors!). Anyway the driver of the paddle boat can't speak and understand english. He can't even take our photo. Overall for a photo enthusiast like me, I love the view, ruins of the traditional way of living. For a trivia, Damnoens Saduak was actually the name of the canal dug in the reign of King Rama IV. He had the canal dug to connect the Taachin River
With the BEST person in Thailand!!!
Hehe Kinda freaking a little bit but good thing I'm with Cecille! in Samutsakorn Province and Maklong River in Samutsongkram Province together. The excellent quality soil beside the canal is very fertileand suitable for growing many kinds of fruits and vegetables. The area is famous for Malacca grape, Chines grapefruit, coconut, crops etc.
