ok we have done alot since my last blog so gona start with one for khorat and phimai. we arrived in khorat on friday night got a nice hotel then went off to eat. tuk tuk driver took us to the wrong one but was a good result - ended up i a bar with live music and we chatted to lead singer who turned out to b the owner and was so friendly - free tequilla!! again no westerners though. the next day very hungover we wondered round khorat, saw the few things it has to offer - and old city gate and a pillar! then in the afternoon we got bus to phimai - got local bus and that was an experience - packed full and with no air con but it only took 2 hours. we arrived in phimai and it is clearly not often traveled as the locals were starring at us - esp me, i am like a celeb bcos of my height!! we managed to get hotel out of the town and it seemed nice until we ate - i was very ill the next morning but fine by afternoon thankfully!! it was also full of thai lady boys and dirty old western men - not a place for young travelers! anyway next day we checked out early and went to phimai - there are old temple ruins there. The ruins were really cool - they r like ankgor wat in Cambodia just smaller. after a morning there and having our photo taken with locals and japenese tourists (they stare at me endlessly!!) we got a minibus back to korat - was well fun jst the three of us in it. then we got coach (with air con) from khorat to pak chong - we then got to the khao yai garden lodge - which is really good but i will tell you all that and our amazing trip to the national park in my next blog.
