So, finally getting this blog up to date! Having left Bangkok we caught a bus down to the little pier of Ban Phe from there we took a boat to the beautiful little island of Ko Samet. We spent our first three nights in the cheap and cheerful Jeps Bungalows, it's a nice little place on the beach, where we met a guy call Phall from Cambodia who spoke excellent English, he' taken great care of us and we wish him and Lay (his wife) and his children all the best in reaching there dream of buying a house in Cambodia for there family.

On only the third day here i managed to run into the sea with the camera in my pocket so the photos are a bit limited. We spent our first nights just chilling on the beach where at night they put out these beautiful lanterns. Hels has been enjoying the Long Island Ice Tea's and i even managed to get off the Lager for a night drink some Blue Lagoons.... "Lager Lout?.. Moi?"

We ventured further down the island to the next beach which is a bit more lively to party in the Silver Sands Bar, they have a great fire show on the beach and i took the chance to try and be fancy with the camera... these are the results...

We spent a day out on a speedboat, traveling all the way around the island stopping of for snorkelling and to visit a fish farm where we saw giant sea turtles and other exotic fish. The farm was made up of wooden planks which you had to walk around, if you fell off you were in with the sharks so Hels refused to get off the boat, i risked it, but thought it safer to not wear my flip-flops.... big mistake, now i know what it feels like to walk on hot coals! LOL. Sadly the camera was long gone by then so the photos end there : (

We spent a couple of nights at the Naga Bar, just down the road from Jeps, owned by an English chap called Gary, who' a Muai Thai boxer, he has his own ring in the bar and believe me he was a man mountain. We met up with a couple of lads from the UK, Karl and Darren, who were just coming
Lager lout?! Moi?!Lager lout?! Moi?!Lager lout?! Moi?!

Blue Lagoons do the trick
to the end of there travels they filled us in on what to expect and what to look forward to, and we enjoyed watching the England game and the Italian GP.

After a couple of days at Jeps, we decided to go a little more upmarket and made our way down the island to stay in a nice little villa on the beach. This beach is much more chilled so we have spent most of our days just lounging around in big comfy chairs on the beach, drinking and chatting away with a couple of Aussies who are here on holiday. We found a little bar run by an Irish guy last night, so we will probably end up there tonight watching the England match although it doesn't kick off 'til 2am here, so we'll have to see about that one.

I woke up this morning with a bad back from the hard bed, so decided to go for a Thai massage on the beach shown here, certainly beats getting up and sitting in traffic on the M6 on a Wednesday morning! LOL

This will be our last update until we get to Jomtien (Pattaya), we leave Ko Samet on Firday and we've moved our work at the Forever Elephant Project forward, we've enjoyed our time here, but feel ready to move on, time to do some work (and get a game of golf in as well... just don't tell Hels)

It's a hard life..
..but someone really has to do it! What a grand adventure! It's great to see you're living life to the full. WE REALLY WISH WE WERE THERE! The blog is excellent, good photos and a journalist's pen. Hels, did you find a plug for the straighteners? John, remember the barrel points AWAY from you! Have fun!
