Bangkok
Tuk tuk, tuk tuk, tuk tuk..... Sawatdii (hello) from Bangkok!!
After 17 hours of flying we arrived in Bangkok bleary eyed and where suddenly awoken with the hustling bustling circus that seems to be Bangkok. Already we were feeling a million light years away from Africa!
We managed to navigate our way through all the madness and arrived at our hotel, which after a month of camping was pure luxury - hot shower,tv, huuuge bed (with pillows), a fridge. The list goes on, we were loving the home comforts and as much as we miss Motel 6, this was absolute bliss!
We spent our three days in Bangkok wondering around and taking in the Thai way of live. We quickly learned that street food is the way to go, If it's good enough for the locals... Delicious phad thai for a mere 60 baht, bargain! The food markets are fascinating, with the strong smells and colours of anything and everything that gets thrown into a wok, although what looked liked stewed brain didn't take our fancy so much. You have to have strong stomach when walking around some of these markets.
Whilst in Bangkok we decided to follow the tourist cattle market and head
to The Grand Palace. On arrival it seemed that my short shorts were not suitable attire so I had to hire an ankle length wrap/skirt thing, not the most flattering! The temples and palace were true works of art with the most intricate detail, however I think it's safe to say that Jamesy and I miss the parts of our brain which really appreciate man made creations and were quickly bored - perhaps with being so spoiled with all the natural landscapes in Africa. The highlight of my day was probably when another tourist asked to have her photo taken with me, I wonder who she thought this pale skinned, sweaty girl was??! Also in sticking with the tourist trail we went for a wonder on the famous Khao San Road where we went for a fish foot massage, the tickliest thing EVER! The street has a great atmosphere with yet more markets and food stalls and bars playing out the loudest tunes! You can see where people make comparisons with the likes of Malia/Magaluf.
Whilst in Bangkok we enjoyed some of the sky bars, lots of bargain shopping (and haggling), many tuk tuk rides (which we absolutely loved
and I have decided that I might like to be a tuk tuk driver), amaaaazing food and finally a Ladyboy show! The Ladyboy show was hilarious and James sat the whole time reminding himself "They are men, they are men..." while they pulled out their sexy moves!
We have both really enjoyed the bright lights of Bangkok and all the craziness that it has to offer!! Now after a hectic couple of days in the busy city we are heading to the island of Koh Chang to wind down. This travelling lark really is tough work!!
Hope all is swell back home,
Much love

Ps. we are having bother getting our photo's up so keep a look out and hopefully we'll get them up soon!
