What makes the headline news in Bangkok?

1. A principal resigns after killing 2 kittens on the school property in Indus, Minnesota.
(Um, ok...and this made the news in Thailand???)

2. America's Population is on track to hit 300 million tomorrow morning.
(OH, the Thais can be so precise....and they know this how?)

and my personal fave...in a recent article in the Bangkok Post,

3. A New Zealand town has run out of women's knickers. The article goes on to say that volunteers are now offering rides to women to a neighboring city to buy "their essentials."
(Is this really *News*???)


And just a little something I recently read in an article about "Packing Lightly," from the master travel writer and guru himself, Mr. Rick Steves:

Tourist shops in major international hotels are a sure bet whenever you have difficulty finding personal items. And if you can't find one of your essentials, ask yourself how 300 million Europeans can live without it.
