IT'S CHRISTMAS TIME!!!!......but this year with a difference. This was my first Christmas not spent with my family and it was definately going to be different having extended by travels and arranged to meet up with my friend Ricardo in Thailand.
We met up a few days before Christmas and stayed at his friend's place (now my friend too) , Ben's.
I was surprised and delighted to find that Thailand actually did celebrate Christmas having arrived with the impression that as a predominately Buddhist country there would be little or no sign of Christmas but how wrong can you be! Thailand was full of Christmas decorations and Ben's was not exception decorated with trees and stockings.
Christmas started on Christmas Eve with a party at Ben's a buffet of food to line our stomachs and get us in the Christmas Cheer before heading off to a Christmas Party at in the Club of the Novatel, Bangkok.
I have to admit to feeling a bit hilly billyish in my clothes alongside the glamourous Thai friends of Ben's but hey ho I am traveling and nothing was going to stop me having a good time.
Stepping into the
club was like entering into a fairy tale world complete with fairies, elves, wizards and more besides. We were escorted to our VIP seating area a perfect place for many, many photos before we moved to the dance floor where we danced until dawn as the live band of elves blared out some great hits for us to shake our booty to.
And amongst it all the magic mushrooms on the stage bekoned to me and I could not resist grabbing one for a photo - managed to sneak it passed the security guards!
As 6am arrived we started to fade and it was time to pile into the car and head home to carry on the more partying at Ben's in the form of a not so Secret Santa. The exchange of presents which resulted in me now been the proud new owner of a big blue cat.
