T-storm in the distance
Turns out that’s all the closer it got. I’d be happy with just a cloudy day at this point The morning looks the same as yesterday, clear sky. The close of training is rapidly approaching. Three more morning sessions and only one afternoon left. Today’s temperature was 94, and the heat index was a nice, balmy 107. It’s no wonder I was feeling exhausted during the run. Quiet mornings continue at the gym. Its nice to have the relaxed atmosphere, but there is also feeding on the energy of other boxers, fighters and trainers banging away on the pads and bags. I was visited by my friend this morning, looking for a handout. I’ve only seen two of the 3 dogs from previous, although there are at least two cats who show up and kneed away with their claws on the mats. There was a possible thunderstorm brewing, but it never materialized. Could have used the rain to help the humidity, and to clean off the running path. The dogs are really making use of the little alleyway between the two roads, and there’s a lot of careful stepping through there. I knew the heat was really bad today because on the ninth lap I was ready to quit. I was sweating by the buckets. The last two days have

How can you say no to those puppy dog eyes? This one follows me around when I’m lifting weights or doing sit-ups looking for treats. been tough on the socks and shoes. They’re drenched by the time I’m done. Finishing the run on lap 11 (sounds like sip et - loosely translated as “what the hell were you thinking”), it was still time for jumprope for 10 minutes.
Saw the other American, Colt, running today. He’s slowed by blisters on his feet from kicking on the rubber mats. Ajahn took care of that today by dousing his blister with some sort of blue solution, like you’d see in a barber shop for sterilizing combs, and then wrapping him with tape. I could see the look in his eyes screaming that it burned like crazy. I also gave him the extra Vitalyte I had to try and help him with the heat and keeping the electrolytes in his system. I also found a local version for 7 baht (23 cents) so he can find a pharmacy and get some when he needs them.
I set up the video and recorder today’s session. The first round was pretty good, but the heat and running/jumping of the morning did slowed me down for the next few rounds. Last night was definitely the best session so far.

One of the two cats that I’ve seen here this trip. It’s doing it’s morning stretching with its claws out on the mats. It was a normal 4 round session. Today I added a shin pad so I could kick with the left. The foot felt ok, but it’s obvious the right is still the better. There were the normal 20 or 30 knees, machine gun punches, 10 kicks on each leg, etc. I was drained at the end of the pad rounds. I’ll have to see if the video looks as bad as I felt. Weights and sit-ups finished the morning off. It’s definitely a good plan to take the afternoon off from training today. I was going to try and go to a Wat, but I'm more tired than I thought. I think I’ll just stick around the local area and do some shopping.
It was good to have a rest day, especially with the heat being so brutal today. Even on a day off, I logged nearly 12 miles and 3000 calories. Hopefully, tomorrow will be better, but the forecast is looking like a repeat of today
