As I approached the tenth anniversary of my Travelblog membership, I thought I should commemorate the occasion. After much thought I decided to write a Travelblog re-living my travels. I started blogging on Travelblog in 2009, entering trips beginning in 2007. My intention has always been to document my years of travel since my birth...how else was I to save all the slides my Dad took of my childhood! Most bloggers write about their trips away from home. Mine, and eventually Linda's, homes have usually been where people travel to. So the idea eventually percolated to name our blog "Home and Away." During my senior year of high school I surveyed the top of Doi Inthanon. Six year later I returned to Chiang Mai with Linda to build the road and the radar station on that mountain. This is our home in Chiang Mai.

Linda tired of walking the entire Louvre in Paris. My Mom and Dad were going back to the States for furlough, se we joined them as far as Europe. We went to Switzerland and Luxembourg with them. Then we proceeded north to Copenhagen, Oslo and Bergen before heading south to Innsbruck, Rome, and over to Madrid, and Paris. There we flew Aeroflot back to Bangkok via Kiev and Moscow.

Funny I was looking at how long I had been a member of this friendly group of travellers and was shocked at how many photos I had put on and how many words I had cobbled together. The wonderment of it all Bob. How lucky you have the photos of from when you were a bub to now and parents who were happy to chronicle your early days so you could take over to preserve the family history. Your life has been full of a multitude of experiences because you were born with the penchant for travel and to discover this extraordinary world. And thanks to Travelblog you are able to chronicle it and share it. Happy 10th Anniversary.
