TAJIKISTAN with the Tajik Outlaws Part 3. I once had a muscular physique...girls used to watch me play tennis...said they liked my legs. Then I met Denise and the girl followers dropped off as my new hot blonde made it clear they should..."clear off". Our first day was at a music festival. Years passed. Living the Tajik Life!
Love it as always my dancing friend! If I could have joined your dancing car I would have done so in a single heartbeat! Your car is the car to rule the road. Also, there's nothing like losing your old clothes to gain your new friends!

Living the Tajik Life!
Glad you've joined the ride Per-Olof. Turn up the music did you say? Can do. We are now to head into the high Pamirs...where the fun really starts!

Nack'd
Nack'd - showing the complexity of the English language hahahaha - great blog David - even though I was suffering from that gut bug I was still having a wow of a time & how could you not in such a beautiful country with such hospitality.

Nack'd
Your spelling better reflects the inflection of Sherali's word 'tis true. Might I say you were an absolute trooper Denise...Tajik bacterii attacking you at every quarter and never complaining. That's why we travel remote isn't it? We didn't go on this trip to get the big easy! But thanks to Shane's brilliant planning...for us it was (subject to health and getting nack'd)...a bit of a breeze!

Yamg Homestay Dance Fest

motley crew
This certainly is a motley crew here - what a great pic. I hope you guys are eating more than one dried grape a day as you traverse this region? Dave

Yamg Homestay Dance Fest

motley crew
Great pic indeed Dave. The Tajik seemed to convey cool in portraits really well I found. As Sufi philosophy promotes annihilation of self, if you know anyone who has too big an ego...maybe you could suggest the single dried grape per day diet...works wonders they say!

Yamchun Fortress

That's just magical
A stone fort high up in the barren mountains is nothing short of magical. I've seen a few myself (Georgia, Yemen for instance) but I never grow tired of them. /Åke

Yamchun Fortress

That's just magical
Agreed Ake. Yamchun Fortress is reputed to have been the guardian of the Wakhun Valley...controlling the old Silk Road trade from Pamir to Bactria, India and Iran. Magical indeed.

Agreed Lynne. Those ceiling windows indicated to me a superior culture. They sure were fancy!

Catch phrases
Recently I told how my mum would look at a very grey sky and then find a little patch and say “ It’s brightening up “ that became our catch phrase on our last trip .... and usually it did !

Catch phrases

Langar Homestay

Homestay
Gives some idea why we did not mind being separately homestayed from the rest of the group Lynne. We didn't mind at all.
