After 10 wonderful days on the plateau at 4500m of altitude, getting back into town at Khorog was very difficult. I couldn’t stand the noise, the traffic, the dust (you’d think I’d be used to such things after 7 years in China!), and the owners of the guesthouse I stayed at really irritated me. The Wakhan Corridor
I'm so glad you made the decision to ride the Wakhan Corridor - I travelled along there by motor vehicle earlier this year (a week in Afghanistan and a few days in Tajikistan) and it was an incredible experience. Definitely one of the great road journeys of the world. The fellow travellers you encounter along this route are some of the most interesting people you are likely to meet! Safe riding, and I hope those winds on the Pamirs are a help and not a hindrance over the coming days.

Thank you!
I was in the Pamir In August. The weather was great and wind is simply part of the adventure. It was tough but so worth it! I am now in Kyrgyzstan after a few days in the charming city of Almaty, heading towards the mountains (Talas) and off to Uzbekistan. What's next on your agenda? Your blogs are excellent! Well-written, exciting and informative. keep up the good work! Wishing you safe and fun travels. jeremy
