This day started with a loud noise outside of the hotel room. The students from Taichung high school are lining outside of the cafeteria (long frgging line!) for their final meal before departure, so we had to resort to good old McDonalds. The great thing about Kenting is the convenience, a few minutes walk to all the little stores and vacation needs (scooter rentals and kayaking and scuba diving etc).
Hsiao Du pork buns was on my to-do list in Kenting, so we got a taxi. "You might have to be in line for a while," said the taxi driver. Really? What is this place like? Ten minute drive to the place, lucky! No line, but we were faced with a menu with short description and a quick decision to make (the lady at the counter was rushing us). There are about 8 meat options and 8 vegetarian options. "We'll take 2 of everything." "The spicy lion head and onion BBQ are sold out." What? It's only 12:00PM.... But they were good. Are they better than their siblings anc cousins in Taipei? Well.....
My recommendation for Kenting sightseeing -- Scooter. It is a must! I don't have a valid Taiwanese drivers license so my only option was this electric scooter (still looked like a normal scooter), and we traveled around all the spots freestyle. It was a blast! The weather was perfect, not a lot of cars and motorcycles on the road, we visited Sail Rock, Seashell Beach exhibit, Erluanbi Park, FungChuaiSha, and some random bridge a the end. This is definitely the only way to do Kenting.
Tourists like to flock to the buffet, so tonight we opted for the Chinese restaurant in Chateu. Not a bad option, good food and less crowded. Friday night, big crowd at the night market, it's time to bid good bye to our trip to Kenting.
