This is my first time in Fiji, I’m really exited the trip in the first day. I visited Fiji for one week. During the week there, I made lots of great memories with my friends and learned a lot about the Fijian Culture, since we weren't allowed to have our phones with us, I had the chance to experience their culture without any distractions. When you have been there you have to drink the (KAVA) drink. That is welcome you to their home. And that is the most important in their culture. If you drink this drink it means you respect their culture. Before you join the ritual you must wear the skirt (SULU) to mean you respect their traditional. Thur Jan 3 2013 Breakfast: I have been enjoying some unusual items in our hotel's all-you-can-eat buffet. I have decided to not eat wheat for awhile, so appreciate some interesting alternatives: Congee (rice porridge), sweet bean soups, dried fruits, peanuts and pumpkin seeds. Took HSR (High Speed Rail) to Zuoying at south end of Taiwan. Lucked out at ticket kiosk when I asked for seniors rate--50% off! Moral of the story: do ask! Reserved seats cost about an additional $1.50CAD. State of the art train with cleanest restroom I've ever seen on a train or plane! Speed went as high as 295 kph-- very smooth ride. Took MRT to Kaohsiung where we walked around and had simple lunch at outdoor food place. No English, but another customer helped to translate. On return trip, got an even ... read more

I am so excited in scuba diving there because 0cean is always an intriguing wonderland, the playground and battle field of magnificent corral reefs, colorful tropical fishes, elegant marine mammals and some unexpected and surprising lives. That’s the reason I gazed the aquarium obsessively. Still, I could remember the first time I went to an oceanarium in the south of Taiwan. Various aquatic creatures flied in a gigantic water tank. Rays were always like birds, flatting their fins and hovering above, while other fishes, as a group, flied and glided gently one by one, passing through. I had to raise my head to take a glance of their elegant and magnificent movement behind the thick safety glass. The most entertaining ... read more

After four hours drive from Ali Mountain we arrive in Kaosiung City. Welcomed by kilometres of factories, sea breeze and old narrow streets we're looking for the wedding house. I'm expecting to see guests having a smoke outside, overdressed couples and cute decorations. In fact guests are having smoke inside, people are mostly casual if not underdressed but there are indeed pink balloons everywhere. Invitation said the wedding will start at 12:36 - peculiar time, selected especially for the occasion by a fortune teller. We are late... I'm happy to see that my white face is not causing too much confusion and I almost get away with the lie that I'm from Xinjiang province - mainland China. We wait for the food, I'm starving and have no idea what is going on (like most of the ... read more
