Galbi! One Korean food I actually enjoy...a lot! They cook the meat right in front of you on your table. Oh so good!
Annyong Haseyo!!!!

Phew! Over 3 months I've already been in Korea! Time sure does go by fast~ especially when I'm so busy! I have picked up tutoring a bit since being over here. Right now I'm tutoring a 7 year old boy English every Tuesday and Thursday night after I'm finished working at the school. It makes it an extremely long day, but I can't turn down the $50 an hour they're paying me. If I would have known I could make so much tutoring before I came here I wouldn't be working at the school so many hours and using my time to tutor instead! Oh well.

I have also taken up a Korean language class. I have class 3 hours every Saturday. I pay monthly for the lessons and wanted to test out the waters for April and see how it went. I am really enjoying it and am going to try to stick with it. It is so gratifying being able to know that all the crazy symbols on the buildings actually do make sense. The language is fairly easy to learn as well. I already know Hangul (the Korean alphabet). It is very explanatory -

so I can sound out words...I just don't know what I'm reading ~ it'll come with time though!!!

The weather has been perfect the last few weeks here and it is such a great feeling. Spring is in the air and there are wonderful cherry blossoms everywhere! Beautiful. It has been in the 60's and 70's and it makes the days that much more pleasant.

Hmmm...what else has gone on since writing last...St. Patty's Day was great fun! Green beer and all and a party in the streets of Seoul. You literally can't even tell that I'm in Korea in the pictures because it's American's as far as you can see!

I went to the Korean War Museum the other weekend. It is a beautiful building with a TON of information and artifacts. I spent 3 hours walking around and hardly saw half of the museum! I'm sure I'll go back - I am most intrigued on the part of the museum based on the Korean War. All the information is in both Korean and English and you can play all the movie clips in English as well.

I've taken on a liking for soccer since

being here. The world cup stadium is in Suwon ~ a town right next to mine. The Suwon team is the best in Korea and really fun to watch (the Korean's LOVE their soccer and baseball here). I also went to the Korea vs. Iraq game and the North Korea vs. South Korea game--quite interesting especially considering the circumstances.

As far as North Korea, South Korea's don't seem to be overly concerned. I think it is because they have been dealing with these kinds of issues for many many years. It was a bit scary though with all the news on the "satellite" to be launched. I feel so bad for those poor people in that country!

I hope everyone had a fabulous Easter and is enjoying the warmer weather in Minnesota. You deserve it after such a long winter! I spent my Easter weekend celebrating my friend Kelly's birthday. Steve and I (the guy that lives right next to me) had a gathering with about 20 people for the celebration. You know it was a good time when the Korean cops show up at the door and my friend Matt pinky swore to them that we would

all leave. They were pretty cool about it considering we had that many people shoved into a one room dorm (I was just glad we were in Steve's place at the time the cops came and not mine!)~

Last, but not least, I booked my tickets for Indonesia! I will be going for 11 days in July! So exciting. I will give more details the closer it comes to the date of departure. Also, I have a 5 day weekend coming up the 1st week in May where I will be doing some traveling around Korea. I will be sure to post pictures after my adventures!

My friend Janice and I decided to go hiking up a mountain near Seoul. This is how crowded it was! Not hiking at all~ you need to get much farther out of Seoul to get away from the people.

Why wouldn't the Korean's reapply their makeup halfway up their hike!? So vain!
