Arrived in Singapore
- stayed in little india - gorgous smells of indian food, spices, incense, stalls of indian clothes, music etc - very much like indian areas around london tho (wembley, etc)!. small but real nice atmosphere. very hot & humid! tried the yummy indian food served on a banana leaf, eating with hands, getting all mucky - great fun - good to get straight into the local way!!
chinatown really interesting, learnt lots about the chinese imigrants, nice hindu temples, markets, wonderful smells of food & tea, etc
walk along the river - really remined me of southbank - some cool buildings though.
met lovely guy Nick from singapore that runs our hostel - took us to do the whole raffles hotel singapore sling thing & eating peanuts, throwing shells on the floor (sorry guys, but it had to be done!). amazing band playing chilled out great classics - barry white sound-a-like & sexy sax player - karen & i were in heaven! taken to local bars with nick - hilarious games of pool & then to good old chinese style karaoke to very bad classic english songs. really funny night!

singapore summed up for me- interesting, really clean, organised (road systems & transport great), but almost a slightly eerie big-brother feeling about things we are & are not allowed to do! also sometimes extremely over-the top on air conditioning!! was happy to only spend a couple of days here.
