We arrived in Singapore last night after 7pm and boy did we notice the difference in the temperature. The humidity hit us straight away.
We had to drive around a bit with our driver to find another couple taking the same transfer.
The drive to the city was interesting. Such different views to what we had been experiencing.
The city looked so clean and neat and so lit up!
We arrived at the Stamford and it was HUGE! It was very busy too. Our room was a deluxe and it was magnificent.
Perfect luxury to relax and recover in.
We had a hot bath and then went straight down to explore the mall connected to the hotel. It was nearing 10pm but very busy still. We couldn't resist the little restaurants there and bought some great Asian curries. They were to die for and VERY hot. This place seemed to be a little chain store, but the quality was great.
After a great night's sleep in we headed down to breakfast. We had our choice of restaurants and just took a punt. OMG! This was my sort of breakfast. I was sick of bacon
and eggs and croissants. This was ALL sorts of Asian foods. Curry puffs for breakfast. Yum! We stuffed ourselves silly. This blew our lunch appetites though.
We walked for a few hours to Chinatown. On the way we saw the MerLion. Following the street map was a bit confusing, but we made it in the end. We pushed on till we found Orchard Road. The amount of shopping centres here is extrodinary. Especially the undergrounds ones that connect everything.
I was in heaven. After 4 hours Rob had enough and went back. I kept going for another 2.
Once back at the hotel I had to repack everything and get organised for our flight out.
We had a long wait at the airport and I filled it with Singapore Slings.
We settled into our flight ready for the journey home!
