We did a few errands in he morning and then had a shopping day. We went round all the markets and ended up being out for about 5 hours! Lots of the stalls have similar stuff but you have to ask several people for the price of an item, find out the cheapest and then haggle with them for a cheaper price. It's quite funny because they give you a ridiculous first price which you can practically halve and then you make offers which they eventually accept! I got two playsuits a down from 350,000 to 130,000 IDR (£6!) then Katy and I went to sky garden where they have an all you can eat buffet for 60k including free beer for an hour (a shame that I don't drink beer or that it wasn't free vodka!) we ate a lot - including mash potato! Then we went back and got changed to go out. We went back to sky garden as it had good drinks deals, it was fun.
The next day we had a chilled one. I got up and went for a massage which was really good. Then I found a yoghurt place called yogurt republic- it was
amazing. You chose your yoghurt, fruit and toppings! In the evening, to celebrate my last night Katy and I went to pizza express!! I was super excited after 8 months of not having it haha it was amazing! When we got back I finished packing.
He next morning went quickly - I booked my flight to the Philippines, it arrives just after nikkis! The taxi to the airport was quick and I just got some food, looked around the shops and got on the plane. My backpack is down to 13.9kg! The flight was only a couple of hours so went quickly. At the airport I waited for Alex to arrive (our last stop together!) We were reunited and made our way to little India where we were staying at Bunc House. The trains to get there were so cheap, about £1 for a lot of stops! We put our bags in and went to grab some food before having an early night as we were both tired from travelling.
Woke up to a nice free breakfast before getting the train to Chinatown to have a look around. We had some lunch from some of the stalls and then walked
to Clarke Quay. It's pretty cool, it has colourful buildings and about 50 restaurants. We looked around and then got a boat to Clifford Pier. Along the way we saw lots of bridges, buildings and the famous Merlion Statue. We got off near the impressive Marina Bay Sands hotel and went in it's shopping centre for a look around. From there we made our way to 'Gardens by the bay'. It was pretty cool. We walked round the outdoor gardens before going in the flower dome. It had 'tulip mania' as the theme along with fairy tale theme. We looked there and then went to the cloud forest. It is a huge tower of flowers and plants which you can go to the top of and walk down. It had a waterfall too. Then we headed to the main attraction - the super tree grove. We took some photos and waited until the sun was setting to go on the skyway- a walk between the super trees. We stayed up there until it got dark so we got to see the trees in the day and lit up. They were really pretty and the sunset looked amazing behind the marina
bay sands. We got a snack from a shop and then watched the lights show. It had different light effects in the trees to Disney songs- so naturally Alex and I loved it! Then we went back to Clarke quay for dinner at Hooters haha
We got up for breakfast and Katy had checked in, she was only stopping overnight though! We all went to the Botanical Gardens. It was super hot and I think Alex and I had flower overload, but it was still fun to look around. Then Katy went off to see some of the things Alex and I did yesterday. Alex and I stayed in the gardens a bit longer and then went to orchard road which is famous for it's shops. We had a look around but it is tiring in the heat (the humidity here is insane!) we ended up heading back to Clarke quay for dinner. We went to Señor Tacos and had burritos. They were really good and we had about of a rush to get to MBS to watch a water/light show there. It was good but they projected photos into the water which was a bit weird. In the evening
we were shattered so just chilled downstairs in our hostel for a bit.
The next day we went to Universal Studios! It was easy to get to a train and then the sentosa express to Sentosa island. We went to Madagascar land first and went on a super slow water ride, it was still fun though. Then we went to shriek world and went on a dragon ride and saw the 4D film. Next we went on a dinosaur water ride- that was nice and refreshing because we see boiling. We got lunch after in a diner before going round the rest of the zones. None of the rides were like big rollercoasters but they were still fun. Then we went back to Chinatown and looked around the markets. We headed back to Clarke Quay (our fave place haha) and had dinner there. We got back and packed our stuff to checkout the following morning.
We got up relatively early to check out and go to our hotel- the fairmont Singapore. Alex had booked us in to a posh hotel for her final night travelling! It was soooo nice. The porters took our things and our room had an amazing
view!! We spent a while admiring the room- including playing with the buttons by our bed that opened and closed the curtains haha then we went to the pool and sunbathed there all afternoon, which was lovely. In the evening we got ready- the shower was like a waterfall! And we grabbed some dinner before going out. We went to a bar in Clarke Quay and then onto another bar with a live band. We had so much fun, the band were really good. Then we went back to our amazing beds for a super comfy sleep!
