No one has a taste for alcohol, it surely develops overtime.. And once you develop it, you are an addict..! That's Singapore to me... My Whiskey..!
Hello Folks!
I still remember when I first entered Singapore (December 3rd, 2013) from "Oh so pretty Sydney", I was cranky.. Cranky to the core..! The weather was on the hot and humid side, we faced a little tough time finding the cab with luggage, we were charged for incoming calls.. I was a complaint-full soul.. My friends were on the verge of disowning me..
Thank God they did not! What I was not noticing then was how much more the place had to offer, and I realized this over the period of time.. and so I went back again, and again.. and am sure the latest was not the last..
Don't complaint, told ya my whiskey..! Lets go down the
Collections, Singapore Journey began with the obvious Night Safari.. Cool stuff, pretty much a jungle feel right in the middle of the city! The Orchard
"shopping" road; the Marina Bay Sands, the Clarke Quay.. was checked in the first weekend itself.. Wait a second, don't think just
because I mentioned the iconic places of Singapore, I was done, the best of my Singapore experiences were yet to come.
It began with a crazy night at Clarke Quay Bridge, when we danced on the bridge, over the bridge "seater", in the cab, outside the campus gate, climbed the campus gate, got stuck with 5 people in our turn-around campus gate.. Sigh.. what a mad night! What begins doesn't end.. there came Christmas, Dec 24th, 2013, on the Helix Bridge, and then next to Louis Vuitton showroom (at MBS) we began the week of merriment, followed by my crazy Palawan Birthday.. without a doubt, the
CRAZIEST BIRTHDAY TILL NOW.. (Whoever planned it; "Pat on the Back") and then New Year Foam Party at Siloso, Sentosa!
Fun Times..!! Moving away from the never ending insanity, that Singapore spoilt me with; I can not move away without praising Singapore for what it is good at. So even though it rains every other day, the drainage system is impeccable, no water logs anywhere!
Kudos to that.. Second is there transportation system, well connected and an amazing charging metric! We could also enjoy a friendly Dragon Boat Race
at Marina Barrage.
On my second sojourn, lets begin with the best.. Amidst the hustle bustle of city life of Singapore lies a quiet place where I was tempted to go ever since I saw it.. In the August of 2014 I had an amazing evening at Timbre. Live music, Truffle Fries, Cider and
Under my Umbrella, ella ella...!! So pretty and so peaceful.. Gillman Barracks you came out better than expected..Oh and they gave me a pizza with a sunny side egg..!
Funny..A hurried and on the toes trip to Universal Studios , the Transformers ride and understanding the "Singles" Line gave a refreshing end to my second date with Singapore!
January 9th, 2015 when I reached Singapore this time, Singapore had changed, it has become far more welcoming to me..
She knew me well now..! Since I always have a to-do list, how could I do away with it this time, But strange enough, this time my cool bro also had a to-do list for me..
"Eeeh" super cool yo! Beginning with mine, Gardens by the Bay; the light and music show reminded me of the
Na-vi's praying around the Tree of Souls! Falafal, music, graffiti
and Friday night what a chilled out evening at Haji lane.. People playing the music had an
Accordion too..WoW!
Red Shakshuka at Pita Pan, MBS and the best Mexican till date at Muchos, Clarke Quay were my food for soul for this short sneak out! And did I mention
Charlie Harper's frozen margarita that came my way that night.!
Raising it to the many more to come, signing off..!
