Got up early to go to klanggaman island. The boat was a little unsteady looking but that's fairly standard for SE Asia so on we jumped anyway! After thirty minutes on the boat we realised we were heading directly for a storm- great news when our boat had a broken roof and an engine that broke down every 5 minutes. So we got a little wet but the boat held up and when we came out the other side of the storm it was clear blue skies! The island was absolutely stunning. We spent the day there, in a beach but sunbathing and strolling out on the sand bank that it's famous for! There was hardly any other people on the island so it was bliss! On our way back a pod of dolphins started following our boat which made the day even more incredible. In the evening we got a taxi motorbike to town (nearly killing several dogs on the way) to get some money out before chilling and watching a film. The next morning we went diving again. Our dive site, Bugtong Bato was a pinnacle dive. It was really cool with lots of bright corals and so many
fish. When we got back we showered and checked out, ready for the journey back to Cebu city. We opted for a minibus back as it was 'quicker and had more space' neither of which was true as we realised 5 hours later crammed with 5 people in 3 seats. We got to our hostel before getting a jeepney (small bus thing) to town and getting dinner.
The next morning we went to the airport ready to fly to Palawan, over the west of the Philippines. The flight was so short but hilarious ... It started with them playing ed sheeran and a few of us joining in followed by a quiz about Cebu pacific where you could win free prizes haha after our flight we took another minivan ride up to El Nido. We checked into our room and got upgraded to a private room which was cool but the room was very basic. Then we went to El Nido pizza as they had given us a voucher for free garlic bread. The pizzas were stone baked and actually really nice!
The next morning we had breakfast, shortly after which Georgina was sick! So we ended up having a
chilled day as she wasn't well and made a plan for our stay in El nido. The weather wasn't great - a bit cloudy which made it difficult to do some things. In the evening she was feeling better so we went for dinner and then had some drinks at the hostel before going out to a club on the beach with some people from our room.
The next day I was a little hungover. We spent half the day in a cafe eating our way out of the hangover. We planned on going to the beach but it rained so we chilled in the tone and booked a dive for tomorrow. Then we went for a massage in he afternoon before dinner and an early night. I also bought a really nice dress in a boutique shop which was cool.
We had breakfast and went to our dive shop to get all our equipment. Then we headed out to our first of three dives for the day. The first dive was Dilumacad. We saw 3 turtles and the tiniest clown fish I've ever seen! It was really cool. When we came up from the dive it was raining but
it didn't matter as we were already wet. We had a tea break before the second dive. That was in South miniloc. We saw another turtle and it was cleaning itself on the coral which was fun to watch. We saw a crocodile fish too. Then we had lunch back on the boat with a long surface interval break before our third dive! Our third dive at Entalula was around a coral wall. Again we saw lots of different fish. When we got back we were starving so went to an Italian nearby which did incredible pasta! We fell asleep pretty early after a tiring day diving!
The next day we did one of the El Nido tours. It was Georgina a Brazilian guy, Lucas and a Filipino family. It started raining fairly early on in the boat trip but we decided not to let it ruin our fun. We got to snake island which is called that after the sand bank that comes off of it and connects it to the next island over in low tide. We walked across it which was cool ... Almost treading on two jellyfish our guide forgot to warn us about ( they
weren't deadly though so no worries!) the weather improved and next we went to a cave to have a look around. We snorkelled outside it before having lunch on the beach. We visited another cave after but couldn't get out if the boat because of sea snakes! The next stop was a small island which had lots of washed up jellyfish! We walked the length of the island before heading to our last stop. We went snorkelling there but he viability was terrible so we just swam in the sea for a bit before heading back to the mainland. The boat started driving when we heads a huge crunch... Then the 'captain' got off and went under the boat where we could hear hammering! He came up holding the propellor- not great news! Then he continued to hammer it more before deciding to take a huge plank of wood off the boat and bash the properly or back into shape. He reattached it and off we ever! Somehow we made it back. We went for dinner with Lucas and planned on going out that night but fell asleep and all woke up at 10.30... We were considering going out then
but decided against it!
