It is our annual family outing. Usually, we just spend it on one of the resorts in Pampanga, but this year, we've decided to have a feel of the beach.
We were all so excited. As early as 4am, we were all awake, readying for our fun day, supposedly. Oh well, almost! The lucky stars were unfortunately not on our side that day, since we took a very hard time finding for a van to rent. Tsk tsk. At last, at 830am, we finally scouted for a van. Whew, the kids were almost disappointed, spoiled and wasted, since they were really waiting for this day.
So, off we went to Subic Bay, which is just an hour away from our home. There are a lot of beach resorts inside the SBMA. We decided to go on the nearer beach areas, near the SB Airport Vicinity
(See SBMA Map). There are other beaches, which i heard to be nicer along the Naval Mag Area (Camayan & Nabasan Beach).
It was the peak of the summer season, so, there are a lot of people on the beach resorts. We went to All-Hands Beach Resort(047 252-3143 or 047 252-2193), since the Officers Beach
is closed due to the Port Construction, and Dunagaree beach, is very crowded with tourists. We paid for the resort entrance of Php 100.00/person for adults, and i think Php 60.00 for children. It was a sunday, but they have lower rates during weekdays. We also paid for Php 150.00 for our cottage, ahhh, at least we've found one.
The resort offers Water Activities such as JetSkiing and Kayaking, but their rates are too high. For Jetski, its Php 2,400.00 for one hour. Sigh. The resort also has Cottages for overnight stay, Php 4,000.00 good for 10 persons.
When the kids were all tired of swimming, we headed our way for a slight tour along the Base. We passed along CUBI where the Bats (Kingdom) and the monkeys are. We stopped for a while and fed the monkeys along the way. JEST Camp(047-2529072/2319) is another tourist attraction along CUBI area. For an entrance fee of Php 100.00/person, you can enjoy the jungle feel of JEST camp which has regular Jungle Tours and other activities such as hiking, wall climbing, and the famous Slide for Life. It also has a Butterfly Garden, an Insectarium and a Mini-Zoo. Jest Camp
is an ideal place for family picnics, sight-seeing, and educational tours with some indigenous people to whom you can learn making fire on native ways. Since its almost 5pm, we were not allowed to enter the Camp. Too Bad! I would want to experience the thrill of the Slide for Life.
We just made a detour to the Subic Bay Boardwalk, near the Subic Int'l Hotel. The Boardwalk is one of the landmarks that make Subic Bay famous. It's a relaxing place to witness the sunset while having a picnic with your family. There is also a playground, where the kids will enjoy. Along the area, are a vast selection of restos and bars. There is also a JetSki area, where you can rent for a jetski.
Visiting SBMA, is not complete without dropping to its Duty Free Shops. We ended our day on shopping for some PX goods on Royal Duty Free Shop.
There are other activities to do insise SBMA. Please visit
my Zoobic Adventure Blog for another Subic Adventure, or go to
SBMA for more info.

Hi I'm also planning a family outing. The beach you went to seems nice and affordable. Please tell me which beach is this? Thanks, appreciate it. - xtinGT
