It has been a long 24 hours, I had the worst seat on the plane leaving Adelaide and had a huge verbal stoush with the Chinese guy next to me, he was very aggressive which of course made me a little hostile, I think we would have come to blows if we werent on a plane.
Anyway I arrived in Singapore at about 5pm then had to wait 3 hours for the flight to KL, annoying that as there isnt much to do in an airport for that long, but eventually I was on the way to KL only to circle above the airport for half an hour till we could land.
Once on the ground there were more problems, the transit hotel was at one terminal my bag was on the other side of Immigration at the other terminal so I took the train over, then begged the Immigration people to let me go to the baggage rack then turned around and got the train back, eventually I got to bed about 10.30.
The alarm went off in my head at about 4.30 am so I figured I would shower and dress and get an early start
Angeles main strip
so I took the train again to Immigration going through this time only to find out that Asia Air fly out of another terminal 20km away, it was lucky I got up as early as I did, as it took me a while to find the right bus stop, naturally the bus was late also, but in the end I got there in plenty of time.
It was then another 4 hours on the plane to get to Clark, which is an ex American airbase about 2 hours from Manilla, the place was pretty much wrecked about a decade ago when the local volcano blew up. I am now sitting in an old but quiet hotel I have had two bottles of the famous local brew (San Miguel) and am contemplating a little walk, I was considering climbing Mt Pinatubo tomorrow but the cost may be a bit much as it is off season and I will have to do it alone as there arent many tourists around.
The walk was not very interesting this a tired place with dirty old perves everywhere with young girls hanging off them I popped into one bar but
My hotel
Bluefields a little faded but not bad it was decidedly Cambodiaesque except there were no young boys. I refused to pay the excess amount they demanded for a beer and the little girls in school uniforms were off putting so I left after about 2 minutes.
I hung in the hotel having a beer or two during the hottest part of the day before heading to Zapata's Mexican restaurant, however I failed to get a table so I went looking for another place, as I was walking down the street I was accosted by a group of bar girls and while I was trying to escape I fell down an open drain, hacking one of my legs up. After a few minutes I pulled my leg out and limped to a chemist to get some benadine and stuff, I took a trike back to the hotel and got a towel filled it with ice and started self medicating, I didnt get a lot of sleep with the pain and the howling Pillippina girls screaming at their pensioner boyfriends.
I just came back from the doctors where I got a jab and some drugs, naturally he over charged me to hell, but better than having my
leg cut off, I am going to stick to the hotel and watch cable until I leave, hopefully tomorrow.
