(Slovenian version below)

It was finally time to see the Philippinian paradise islands and have a dip with the schools of fish! After some »minor« complications with our transport (instead of soaking in a lovely pool and travelling for 4 hours we spent 18h on a bus + extra 4h for the flight) we were finally on the paradise islands – first stop island of Coron. The third largest island in the Calamian islands, Coron is known for several Japanese shipwrecks of World War II and therefore a paradise for those who enjoy wreck diving. Even though we have never done that, we said we'll give it a go – it was definitely something of a kind, cool and full of adrenalin. I do prefer however the fish and the corals. Anyway, we arrived on Coron which has an amazing landscape, very hilly and full of tropic vegetation. The town of Coron is nothing special to be honest, it is made in the mangrove bay area which means all the “houses” are standing on stilts and if you can imagine the water is not

Must I say this was a propeller plane?!
really to enjoy a good swim – the smell as well. However it is a very lively town and it has the best food market! You can get anything freshly done – from chicken to fish to even Balut (yuck) – it’s the egg with a half-grown fetus inside (too much for our stomach). We were the regulars here for a couple of days.

The main reason to come here was obviously diving, not just wreck diving! This is the access point for doing the dive-safari in the nearby Apo Reef, the world's second-largest contiguous coral reef system and the largest in the country. It was very hard to plan this because obviously nobody knows about this paradise diving sight, so getting more people to join us was almost impossible. At the last minute we got an English couple to come (they were only snorklers so they counted as 1 diver, which was good enough for boat to leave). We did 4 nights, 3 days, 11 dives all together, all meals included for somewhat 350€ and it was def. one of the best experiences ever! We highly recomend Divecal. We have to say we were a bit skeptical at first due to the owner Mike's "easy gowingness" (I guess he got used to the Filipino style of living😊) but we got more than we could ever imagine - specially for this price. And what is most important - the dive gear was very new and really good quality. So the next couple of days was all about fish fish fish. Tropical island, boat, good company, 4 dives a day, huuuugge schools of fish, sharks, turtles and very good food. Best thing ever!

Slovenska verzija:

The tiny island was the only "land" we could see in 4 days
zelo hribovito pokrajino, polno tropske vegetacije.
