Happy Easter from the Philippines everyone! After having a hospital operation postponed for the 2nd time, I decided there was no point sitting at home worrying so instead I managed to squeeze in a quick backpacking trip to the Philippines and what a chilled place to be - a million miles away from the worry. However, visiting the Philippines in Holy Week is a bit like going to Wembley on Cup Final day so it was a top priority to try and escape the crowds and discover the tropical seclusion expected from island hopping. It would also help me recharge my batteries for the potentially dark days ahead. Nous voilà parti, nous avons navigué environ 3 heures sur une mer agitée en regardant un spectacle incroyable... le lever de soleil se levait dans une multitude de nuages, ce qui nous offrait des panoramas très interessants... Dès notre arrivé à Capnica, nous étions époustouflé... c’était l’endroit que nous recherchions. Un petit resort qui était situé sur une plage magnifique qui offrait en même temps une section de sable pour s’y baigner et un aquarium naturel pour y faire du snorkeling... On y retrouvait aussi des hamacs partouts entre les nombreux palmiers. Que demander de mieux pour 23$ Canadien par jour... Après avoir bu un bon café et s’être installé dans notre nouvelle demeure... From now onwards, whenever I picture paradise, I will picture Cacnipa. We got here the long way from Sabang -Jeepney from Sabang to Salbation, Van from Salbation to San Vincente, boat from San Vincente to Port Barton, and then finally, a boat from Port Barton to Cacnipa. But BOY was it worth the effort! (-you can also take the far more time efficient and less hassel way and take a boat straight there from Sabang...) We were welcomed by a stretch of soft white sand, palm trees and water so clear we could see the coral dancing under the waves as the boat passed over it. The whole island seems to be sureal.
