The next morning, my uncle named Cid took a leisure walk and ended up at the town's market. Here we sampled some of the desserts I remember eating while growing up. Then we headed back to the house for yet after another feast for breakfast. After that, we headed on a sightseeing road trip to visit the following towns – Burgos, Laoag, Paoay, Batac, & Curimao. Uncle Cid reminded me that old relatives of mine have relocated to Burgos. Those folks hold a special place of my childhood memories. So I was ecstatic to visit them. One problem though - we have no clue to their actual location as I have lost contact with them for over 30 years,

One thing that is an advantage to us is that Burgos is such a close knit town that everybody knows everyone. So upon arrival to the town, we spotted a tricycle depot. These tricycles (also known as trikes) is the most commonly used method of transportation within towns. It is a small engine motorcycle attached to a sidecar that seats 2 passengers. Therefore, the men who drives these trikes have great knowledge of the town's residents.

We inquired these trike motorists to the possible residency of my long lost relatives. Sure enough, one of them knew. So we offered to pay the normal fare to ride his trike but for him to escort us instead to the location. You can only imagine the surprise and the emotions that resulted in my meeting with these relatives. My 82 year old Lola (Filipino term for Grandmother) kept caressing my face in disbelief and cried the whole time I was there.

Although difficult, we said our goodbyes and ventured on to the rest of the towns on our list.
