Eversince I was a kid, everytime I watch someone doing Scuba Diving on TV, I just can’t help but dream that I was doing it too. Scuba Diving has always been on top of my bucketlist. I love the ocean and its world below so much, it’s as if I feel that I’m one of the lost sons of Poseidon, the Greek God of the Sea, that I’m a DemiGod who gets his strength and powers from the sea. Every single time I get back to the beach, only one feeling exists in my body and that is the sense of relaxation. The wind massaging my physique, the sand scrubbing my feet like footspa, the ocean bringing me into another world within the Earth, an even better world wherein those creatures living there knows how to ... read more

Last Friday(July 20, 2012), the whole family went to Calatagan Batangas for our scheduled overnight trip to Stilts Calatagan Beach Resort. We left our house at around 11AM and arrived at Stilts by 2PM, just in time for our check-in time of 2PM. The whole time of our travel it was raining heavily, we were all worried what our day(and night) would look like with that kind of weather. As we arrived on the resort, one can easily notice the tranquility and peace of the place. There’s not too much people around, well partly because this resort is STRICTLY FOR INVITATION ONLY. Meaning you have to reserve in advance before going there, so no walk-in I must say for those planning to go there unannounced. We were assisted by the staff as we prepare to go ... read more

Taal Lake was once just an arm of Balayan Bay. However, after a series of major eruptions in the 18th century, Taal Lake's sole connection to the sea narrowed down into its sole draining river, the Pansipit River. Several centuries of precipitation have diluted the lake's once saline watersinto freshwater. Eruptions has also buried numerous lakeside towns by volcanic ash and submerged by rising lake waters. Lipa, Taal, Sala, Bauan and Tanauan were formerly located along Taal Lake. Presently, only three towns are on the lake's shore. Remnants of the old lakeside towns like buildings and walls are reported to be seen under the lake's waters.... read more

Last Holy Thursday, we went at Ka Lolit's Beach Resort in San Juan, Batangas. We left our house at exactly 5:45AM but since we got lost along the way(I think we got lost somewhere at Ibaan town), we got to Laiya, San Juan at already 9AM! I thought when we got to the municipal hall of San Juan and turned right, the beach would be just a few minutes from the town, but I was wrong! We spent another 45 minutes finding Virgin Beach Resort, which was our original plan. However, when we got to the gate, the guard told us that they were fully booked since 3AM! We just asked the guard what would resort would he suggest and he then told us to go to Ka Lolit's which was about 1-2minutes from Virgin Resort. ... read more

First time nya maghiking. Chubby daw sya at di sya mataba. Tapos, "IN DEMAND" daw ung ganung katawan. Ang ... read more

Pico De Loro, Hamilo Coast is located in Nasugbu, Batangas. This real estate was developed by SM Property. I think this is Henry Sy’s project for their high end market. Pico De Loro is one my favorite travel destinations here in the Philippines. I have been here for like 4 times this year and I never get bored whenever I go back to this wonderful place. You got to love this place since it is very exclusive and it is just 3 hours away from Metro Manila. It is better than other Exclusive/ Membership Resorts since it has they have complete facilities like infinity pool, billiards, poker area, playground, dining area, tennis area, play station area, basketball court, badminton court, squash court, private beach and other water sports facilities. The thing I love about Hamilo Coast ... read more

The Filipino men dress up in Barong Tagalog especially for formal occasions. The translucent fabric used is either Jusi which is our local silk equivalent or pina cloth from handloomed pineapple leaf fibers. It has a front opening with some embroidery, and was originally colourless. Of late, modern barong tagalogs come in different hues. As worn, the barong tagalog is never tucked into one's pants. It is a light dress shirt typically worn to weddings, funerals and other formal affairs. A slightly less formal Filipino attire is the Polo Barong which is usually short-sleeved and made of cotton, linen or ramie materials. Many offices in the Philippines have prescribed the Polo Barong as uniforms for its male employees. The barong tagalog preceded the advent of Spanish colonization. Tagalog is actually a dialect from a reg... read more

There is the heritage town of Vigan in Ilocos Sur. And there's the heirloom houses in Silay City in Negros Occidental. Both are an hour's away from Manila. By plane. Yet just 2 hours drive south from Manila lies this heritage town of Taal, Batangas. A colonial town "frozen in time", an open museum providing a glimpse not just of how it was back in the 19th century, but of how many of our patriots lived during the Spanish occupation and through the Revolution. Declared a heritage village by the National Historical Institute, a walking tour of Taal, Batangas is certainly worth a day trip. A Pilgrimage? Having started with visits of the Taal Basilica (St. Martin de Tours Basilica), the Caysasay Shrine and the Sacred Well of Santa Lucia, this trip may well be a ... read more

Taal Volcano. Taal Lake. Easily, a local here would think Tagaytay City where one can view the volcano and the lake from the ridge. But I wanted to bring my family to go volcano trekking, so off we went to Talisay's Club Balai Isabel, a resort built by the shores of Taal Lake. Stormy Weather Over A Long Weekend The storm was a mood killer. A holiday spoiler. It was a long 4-day weekend for my working girls and school-going grandchildren. It also happened that one of the girls is celebrating her birthday. We booked ourselves at Club Balai Isabel weeks ahead and planned to do the lake cruise and volcano trek. Kayaking near the lakeshore or trying out one of those pedal-pushing water vehicles within a roped area of the lake. Biking. But that was ... read more
