Well Jason and I headed off to Pokhara to check out the sites and see some of the annapurna region.
We took a gruesome 8 hour trip on a bus to get there. Sadly this only covered 190 km! We didn't book the bus ahead of time so when we showed up most of the buses were full. We ended up with seats in the cab. I was actually quite happy with this as the seats seamed more comfortable then the regular seats.
When we got to Pokhara we decided we needed a chill day. We spent an entire day doing tours of Cafe's! It was a great day. This is all we did other then a short boat paddle out into the middle of the lake.
Jason and I had hoped to get some of the views of the mountains when we were here but we had the worst luck! It was cloudy and rained the entire time we were here. Even the locals were saying it shouldn't be happening because that weather was out of season.
So on the second day because it was cloudy we decided to rent some bikes and head out and
check out the city. We went clear across town and ended up at a bat Cave. This was the neatest cave. Starts off a bit commercial with a pathway then becomes a natural cave. A short distance later the cave appears to end and the ceiling is FULL of bats. We were told that there was another exit and that it was really small and hard to find. We were offered a guide but wanted to go alone. So to find the exit we had to climb up a side path that took you far tooo close to the bats...at least in my opinion! Anyways after a couple of false exit attempts we finally found the exit. You had to scale a wall then fit through a hole that looked about 1 ft wide. It was quite the adventure.
The bike riding in itself was an adventure. Nepal doesn't have traffic lights, nor many rules to the road for that matter. Horns are the main line of communication for drivers, no lines on the road no nothing. And even then...Napalli driver's are the most secretive drivers in the world! none of them use their blinkers...clearly they don't want you to
know where they are going. This made bike riding very interesting, Jason took a video during the not so busy area to give an idea of what the roads were like.
The next day since biking was successful we thought we'd tempt our luck and try motorbikes. We rented a couple of scooters and got out of town to see the world peace pagoda and Begnas Tal (a near by secluded lake). Begnas Tal was absolutely amazing. The lake itself was nice but it was the fact that it took us out into the middle of no where and we actually got a taste of non- touristy local life. It was almost like being a celebrity. Everyone was pointing and talking about us....It was neat to be able to see untouched Nepal. After we drove back and had a couple of close encounters with other vehicles. We decided then and there that our driving days in Nepal have ended 😊
We decided to spend the bucks and fly back to Kathmandu to save the stress of the bus. Turns out not too much was saved. Due to the weather our flight was 4 hours late. But we made
it in and that's what matters. Now we are back in Kathmandu and I'm eating everything I can fit into my belly. I'm really going to miss the food here....especially buff momo's! We leave for the airport in an hour. I'm sad to go...this ends our Nepal adventure...and starts our wedding adventure!

Hey guys, your adventure sounds so great. My son and daughter loved the bat cave. Greyson asked about Batman. I tried to tell him Jason was actually Batman. He was having no part of that. What's a buff momo?
