Just bought my new camera (the second 1 in 3 months!!!!!) God knows why i look so happy about it - there goes another 200 pounds!!!! Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia 14th March 2008
Okay, its now the 7th of April and im doing my entry for the 14th March. This is surely going to test the powers of my amazing memory. hahahaha, by now everyone should know what my memory is like!
Here we go....
I remember waking up very very late, it was nearly midday i think and i was feeling pretty delicate after a very late night experiencing the KL nightlife - i think we got in around 5am!
I think i'd kind of got my mind set into having a day dossing around on the internet and vegetating in front of the TV all day. However Lorna suggested going to the Batu Caves, i dragged myself up and got myself into gear (well i just about managed to find first gear!).
Before going to Batu i had to sort something out regarding my broken camera and a replacement. I decided i had no alternative but to go and buy a new one. Lorna (irish girl), Steph (canadian) and I (Mr Perfect!) went into the city. Lorna had to collect her Vietnamese Visa so me and Steph went to

Batu Caves and temple the big electronic shopping mall to check the camera's out.
I did the normal thing and went to about 4 different stores and started the fun negotiations and haggling - lots of people find it intimidating or a pain in the arse but i think it's such good fun! Anyway, i ended up going back to the store i went to first and bought the latest model Canon (similar to my previous 1) - got 300 ringets off the price, a free leather genuine case, free 2gb memory card, free power adaptor and free tripod - not bad going i think!
Steph and I were already late as supposed to be meeting Lorna. But nevermind!
From there we went back to the hostel to drop stuff off and to get something to eat. We went to Rita's street cafe outside our hostel. Each time Rita sees me i think she wants me more, wants me to marry her and take her and her 4year old son back home with me lol. Anyway we had some more fine indonesian food cooked by her mother for about 50pence.
From there we (Steph, Lorna and I) went to Batu

Time out! A much needed beer outside the batu caves caves. We could have got a taxi for about 5 ringetts each (1 pound each) but instead Lorna insisted on catching a bus and doing the cultural stuff. However Lorna didnt initially have a clue where to catch the bus from so we stood at a bus stop for about 20minutes waiting for a bus that was never going to come. We eventually found out where the bus picked up from and we made our way there and stood there for about another 30minutes waiting! Could have been there and back by now in a taxi! Women!!!!!!
Eventully arrived at Batu caves - not sure if the cultural experience of going there on a bus was worth all the hassel and hanging around, but at least now ive done it! Took some snaps of Batu Caves, Walked 1/2 and ran (for some strange reason) 1/2 way up all 272 steps, had a much expected heart attack at the top, and had a look around the place. Not too impressive really once up there - not much here apart from a big open cave, some temples for praying, lots of muslims and lots of monkeys and lots of litter. Still

Monkeys at the Batu Caves its one of these touristy places you have to go and see!
Needless to say, it was beer time! So we went for a quick beer in some small dingy shop outside the temple then got the bus back to KL which seem to take an eternity and moved 10 meters every 5 minutes or so in the KL rush hour traffic.
Steph wanted to go to the Chinese night market so we went there - i was going to bail out and go back to the hostel but i my belly needed feeding. First point of call at market was a streetside chinese restaurant - the same one me and Lorna ate at a few days ago. Can't remember what we all had but we all agreed that the food was amazing and probably the best chinese food we have every had and probably one of the cheapest! Like last time i was here, a small old chinese man came around with this trick - 2 nails bent and inter-linked with each other and you have to seperate them. Also like last time i tried, also the girls tried and like last time i couldn't do it

Some fountain near china town - nothing spectacular, just like the picture :-) and i didn't buy them.
After we had satisfied our hunger the girls had to have there retails urges satisfied so we went around the night market. I bought a tag watch some more sun glasses (got 5 pairs now)
Got back to the hostel arond mid-night feeling exhausted and ready for sleep after a long hard day with 2 girls (its not easy you know!). Up early tomorrow as off to the cameron highlands with Lorna. Got to bed around 2am after i was messing about on the internet and watching tv.
