Hello,,
Me and Joel went to Ko Phi Phi Leh, which is the smaller of the 2 island's. We paid about 5 quid for a day trip on a longtail boat with snorkling aswell. The weather was a bit iffy as it was windy and the boat was tipping hardcore from side to side, so if you don't like huge huge waves this was not the boat for you. The long tail boats are basically long rowing boats with an outboard motor on the back, so it was pretty hairy at times. People in the boat had lifejackets on and were clinging to the sides. First we went to Monkey beach and there were loads of monkeys, suprisingly, we took lots of pics and a few people who got to close got attacked by them, haha, not good!
Then me moved on to Mayan beach, we parked the boats up and did some rock climbing and through a sea cave and then up a rope ladder to get on the island. It was about a 2 min walk to the beach, through all the undergrowth, just like on the film. We got out onto the beach and this was
again amazing, like paradise the perfect beach. I will put some photos up soonwhen I get a chance. We spent about an hour on the beach and then a storm came in, not good as we had to leg it for cover, its the start of monsoon season here so it rains hard for about an hour each day! We got back to the boat and the rain stopped. On the way back we stopped at 2 places to snorkle. Me and Joel did both ones for about 45mins each, was amazing we went right through the coral and saw loads of fish. Was really good and really clear. We then got the longtail boats back across the sea to Ko Phi Phi. Joel was laughing at me as I kept a snorkle and mask by me in case we capsized and had to rescue people stuck under the boat e.t.c, the sea was real bad though and I thought there was a high chance of sinking, haha...We got back alright...We went out for a few beers and soem food that evening, but Joel was ill with a nasty stomach so called it a night...
The next day (Thursday)
we travelled over to Ko Samui, it took about 8 hours, 2 boats, 1 bus and 1 taxi. We found a nice little place to stay. For the next 4 nights and days we stayed where we were on Ko Samui. We didnt end up going to Ko Phang Yang, as we needed to save money. We spent the days doing very little, chilling by the pool and on the beach. At night we went out, met quite a few people, watched all the french open tennis, played pool and had a bit of a dance some nights!...Nothing much really more to write, just like a holiday!
On Monday we spent the day travelling to Krabi, which is a small town on thailand mainland. The journey took 9 hours, which was a joke and we got tthere at 10pm, not good! I had to book my bus to malaysia and we had to find some accomodation well late at night. We then went down to the night market and got some food, which was really nice. They say in Thailand that the best foods is off the streets and from the night markets. We had another early night as
were tired from travelling...
Yesterday (Tuesday) I got the bus at 7am to Georgetown in Malaysia on the Island of Penang...Said goodbye to Jeol, was great him coming out, but sad to say bye and see him on my birthday in October. Then spent all day travelling, crossing th border into Malaysia. I had to pay a 10 quid fine as stayed in Thailand, 1 day to long...! Started to feel Ill on the bus and by the time I got to Penang, I was not well at all. Met Zac and James, 2 of the Machester boys and went straight out to the chemist. She sent me to the Doc's, the Doc said I have got nasty Tonsilitous...brilliant! Ear and mouth were both killing, was horrible. Took so many painkillers, but they did nothing. Anyway, Doc gave me some strong antibiotics, gargle medicine and Ibroprofin, cost 30 quid, but I would of paid anything to get rid of it, haha! Anyway had 15 hours sleep last night as the Pencilillin kicked in and got to work, got up at 1pm today and felt so much better. Gland not swollen anymore so ear pain gone and throat going, so
touch wood, should be better again in a few days...
Today obviosuly we have not done much, just relaxed, went and palyed some pool and thats about it. We are getting a sleeper train tonight to Kua La Lumpa to spend a few days there. Then we are flying to Bali for 10 days, which should also be good, relaxing and hot! I will update blog and photo's soon...
Hope everybody is great in England
Love Luke
