I could not sleep for some reason -- I don't recall thinking about anything in particular, but it was probably 5am before I fell asleep. Needless to say, I was not first up this morning; it was almost 11am before I got up. Most everybody had already gone down to the beach; I was pretty much alone. The fat uncle was in a chair, snoring away, and two of the kids were floating about, but that was all. I joined the rest at the beach. About 11:30, Victor came, and soon after that he, Cze Loon, and I left Port Dickson for Mallaca. The drive down was very nice -- this was a new and interesting road for me. Arriving Mallaca, we went to the Melaka Club for Cze Loon's sister's wedding lunch. We sat at a table marked for the in-laws. The food was, frankly, dreadful. And Cze Loon immediately got into a fight with the lady sitting next to him. She started yelling at Cze Loon and banging her fist on the table. Of course, everybody turned to stare as only Malaysians can stare. Cze Loon pouted through the rest of the lunch. We left about 5pm and returned to Port Dickson, to a different bungalow this time. Everybody else had returned to PJ. Cze Loon, Victor, and I were staying on at the IBM -- air conditioned! -- bungalow. Watched badminton finals that night. Bed shortly past midnight. Really luxurious; air-conditioned room all to myself, soft bed, wooly blanket. No mosquitoes. Ah ...
